As someone who is currently on a Galaxy S Edge 7 and lowers the resolution down to 720p to maximize battery life, hell yeah I'm interested in the XR. I wonder if people whining about the PPI have ever used an iPad. Or an iPhone 7 or 8. All have great screens and all are the same or worse PPI than the XR. The screen resolution isn't going to be a problem.

As for Apple purposely trying to trick people into buying an XS or XS Max, lol. From the beginning they've planned for the XR to outsell the other phones by a huge margin. They're not going out of their way to dissuade consumers now.

Sounds good.

To be honest, I am almost at my tether with Apple (price, storage, battery, delayed releases to maximise profit. phone deterioration after a year etc.) I am not far away from sticking with the 6 until it dies and/or going for a circa £500 android phone.
I think the XS and XS Max are priced $100 too high for what you get, and the 64 GB to 256 GB jump in pricing makes that even worse. However, as mentioned, the LCD production issues for the 6.1” model have been discussed since July by those with insight into the supply chain. IOW, it really does appear to be mainly a supply issue, and not a marketing issue. Given that the expectation from the supply chain is that for every Max sold there should be 2.5 XRs sold, and maybe even >5 XRs sold for every XS when the XR becomes available, I might have thought Apple would want the XR available ASAP.

And for the battery, all I can say is I’m pleased with the battery replacement program. Not bad to have a brand new battery in 2018 on a 3 year-old 6s for CAD$35.

Also, with that fully functional battery, the non-throttled performance of the 6s after the iOS 12 performance tweaks is very good for UI actions, even when compared to a XS. I'll post that 6s Plus vs XS Max performance comparison here:

This really stings. They're already quite expensive and then the storage jump is like rubbing salt in the wound when the XR has a $50 128GB option while the XS's first option is $150.
