I have an iPhone 13. It can last another year. The upgrades to the 14, and 15 (including their Pro/Pro Max variants) are iterative and not compelling enough to me to upgrade. However, I do wish I ordered the 13 Pro Max instead (battery life, 120hz screen).

I have PM 512 and I’m trying to sell it for 1200€ but so far impossible.
* I hate the battery!!! I bought mine in October last year because it was a hustle to get one in Switzerland. I’m 92% already…
My 13 Pro was 96% after 12 months.
If I don’t sell my 14PM in 2 or 3 weeks I won’t bother and keep it as a backup phone for the future.
I’m an enthusiast and like to have the best camera possible yearly even though a Sony A1 is my main camera (I’m a hobbyist) 😅

Everyone here seems quite happy with their iPhone 14 Pro. I have an iPhone 11 Pro; is there a reliable place I could pick up a brand new iPhone 14 Pro at a decent discount now?

Have a 13 more than happy with it see no reason to upgrade anytime soon plus cannot justify the cost for what I consider minor upgrades the 14 or 15 don’t have much in the way of standout features

Happy to keep what I got for the foreseeable future

What a nonsense. If it doesn’t make financial sense to upgrade that doesn’t mean you financially cannot afford to. Two very different things.
The Venn diagram of people not updating because they can't afford to and for those whom it "doesn't make financial sense" is a circle

14 PM. Will basically not be able to do anything more special on the 15 PM, and the fact it’s ca 20g lighter won’t do much difference to me personally. I also sense potential troubles coming up with the new Titanium, but we will see… hope not.

I’m still happy with my 14 Pro… my battery is 97% and there really enough of a change for me to consider upgrading. If I could change one thing it would be the color, I got the Purple because I hadn’t had a dark phone in years but I really miss having a lighter color.

I have an iPhone 12, but I'm just not a heavy phone user. I don't play games or watch movies on a phone, I prefer the larger screen of my MacBook or iPad for things like that. Probably the only benefit I would see would be the camera. And as fun as it is to have a new Apple toy, even with the offer of lowish monthly instalments, its still a lot of money for something I would make fairly modest use of.

13PM here, and I have been upgrading every other year up until now. Battery life is great, average is ~ 45-50% at the end of the day, battery health at 87%.
the logical path for me would have been the 15PM, but, none of the advertised features were convincing to me, and the camera update was also rather disappointing, and don't get me started on Ti ... in addition, $580 of trade in wasn't compelling with (I have the 512 version which comes in at $1399)

So another year of 13PM for me, and I'll keep AC+ ...

I have a 10XR
1. It still does everything I need it to do
2. It’s not broken and the battery is still good
3. I still get iOS updates and security patches

While I dislike only having 4G, being too large and having a lightening connector. It isn’t worth several hundreds of dollars and the inconvenience to change

I’m happy with my launch 13 Pro Max with 99% maximum capacity battery health.

That said I do miss my old 12 mini - except for its battery health which was at 82% after one year. I wish I got a 13 mini before Apple stopped selling them now gotta find one elsewhere.

It won’t make me toast and millionaires keep taking my money.
I will say I have never worked for a poor person?
Millionaires keep me broke. I am saving my money on this one.
Im out! 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️

I actually added the 15 Pro Max to my cart until I started seeing the hands-on photos.

Every time I see them, I can’t help but think it looks more like a Samsung Galaxy design than an iPhone design.

I’m not saying it’s bad, I actually think the Galaxy line is fantastic. It just doesn’t have the drama in the design that my 14 Pro Max has with the stainless, sharp edges.

Is it just me? Maybe it will grow on me. They often do.

The user experience of the 13 Mini trumps any feature they could add to the phone, IMO. I'll be sticking with this phone for as long as I can.
100%. After checking out these new iPhones today in the Apple Store, I walked out and straight to the last reseller of a 13 mini I could find. Bought a starlight model. I'm only upgrading from a 12 mini. I hope this isn't the last iPhone I buy but it looks to be that way!

The new phones, even with all their bells and whistles just bore me.

I have (and love) an iPhone XS in gold, and I bought a galaxy fold 4 last year because I thought folding phones were super cool, and at $800 it was hard to say no!

I still use an Apple Watch (S4) and I want to keep using it! Apple has really cool watch faces and features that the android watches don't really seem to do a good job at competing with. Like right now with WatchOS 9 there's the awesome new Snoopy face! He doesn't talk to announce the time like Mickey does (and I dearly miss that), but he's also the first new watch face I've been excited about in years!

But still, the Fold 4 .. I enjoy using it! It runs the full version of firefox WITH extensions, and I adore that. Using stuff like instagram on the giant screen is awesome too. Plus when it's closed, it fits in my hand really well. Do I miss iOS? Sure..

So what I do is I carry both phones. The XS remains my "primary" phone for phone calls, but I use the Fold 4 for pretty much everything else (when I have it on me anyway). Both phones have "meh" cameras..... but I can live with that.

I was really tempted when I heard about the USB-C, and that the pro comes in a neat shade of blue.. little darker than I'd like lol. That said, I don't feel like spending $1k on a phone right now. Maybe next year. Or if a really great iPhone deal comes along lol.

I simply can't justify ordering a new phone every year, or every 2 years, or even every 5. If my phone breaks, I repair it. If it dies or becomes outdated, I upgrade. I always keep AppleCare+ as well so repairs are much more palatable. There's always going to be something new, which is super cool but so long as my device stays current and working I couldn't care less. Same thing with desktops/laptops. If it works it works. If it doesn't, upgrade. My wallet is all the better from it.

How many times have you lost an argument to a 12-year-old?
I haven’t lost a damn thing. The notion that every person who ‘doesn’t’ upgrade habitually can’t afford it anyway is pathetic and immature.
People may prioritise other things, people may have environmental concerns, people may just be too lazy to set their phone up again. But immature apple zealot says if you don’t upgrade every year you somehow don’t have the funds. The 15 pro max is what, £1500 at top spec? I think you’ll find most people have access to more than one and half grand lol.

Grow up.

I have iPhone 14 and while the 15 series has some nice features I just can’t justify spending money on one right now my 14 does everything I need right now so I will wait to see what the iPhone 16 series will bring to the table!
