I’m sticking with my 13 Pro Max, for now. Battery life is 91%. The only thing that could persuade me to the 15 is moving to the 6.1 screen size. While I love the 6.7 screen size, it’s a hassle jamming the phone into or retrieving it from pants pockets.

I too use to upgrade every year until the phones just got so good that it wasn't compelling. USB-C and the Action Button are not big enough features for me to spend hundreds of dollars on.

I will upgrade next year because I like a phone that's not older than two years. I will continue to collect my $13.50 iPhone credits from Verizon for another 12 months ($162).

I have a 13PM. I wanted a 13 Pro but the carrier deal I got was only on the Pro Max. I was all ready for a 15 Pro with USB-C and the 3nm chip. Then the early returns on battery life started coming in. I thought the 3nm chip would mean significant efficiency improvements, but it seems like they aren't there. Maybe they will lean into that next year with the rumored bigger screens providing space for a bigger battery.

Not around 3029.

HN is out of the question for me because I have the 15% off Ultimate GCs that work only in OW and JB.
if you have a ge card there is a $200 plus gift card if you buy with IF.
the old ozbargain gift card trick, was always going to be a problem with stock if stuck to JB then

I used my iPhone 6 from 2015 to 2023. I have a Mini 12 since February, I'm planning to use it till 2030. I don't see a reason to change it, I use the same apps on 12 that I was using on 6. Of course 12 is way faster and has a better screen but that's it. Having a 15 Pro would change nothing in my life.

I upgrade every year, but thought about not doing it for this one. Well, I ended up pre-ordering and I am glad I did! The weight of the 15PM is quite a bit lighter! I notice a big difference when holding it. I love it!

If the iPhones were free, everyone in this thread would be getting one and whatever cope they gave goes out the window.
I would not (and not just because I'm an Android user). I don't believe promoting spending and using up limited resources is a prudent thing to do - even if it were being offered for free.

Don’t see a point. Have a 13 pro max and it does everything I need. In a year or two, I’ll replace the battery and use the device till it dies. IPhones have become a mature product and they don’t change much. Also they have gotten really good. My dad still uses a 7 plus and it works fine and is still fast enough.

Besides, iPhones cost as much as computers. I don’t upgrade my computer every year, why would I my phone.

The question should be rather “why upgrade” if you have a “perfectly working” phone to begin with… Have been looking around different threads since Friday and a lot of new 15 line owners seam to want to validate their switch even from 14 line phones. Comments like “my new 15PM Nat Tit is super light compared to my 14PM” or “the cameras is so much better then before”… well everything is relative but who are you selling it to? Respect everybody’s opinions but I would grant some more sensible approach if possible.

I think it's a significant upgrade over my 13 pro, however I am a bit conservative and keep my phones for 4 to 5 years before upgrading. Much bigger upgrade after that amount of time.

I’m not upgrading because I like the industrial style of glass and raw stainless steel. Plus this is a lame update for people who have a 14 with the iPhone having a major update next year.

In addition to being larger, the iPhone 16 will have a fourth camera module. There is no way for Apple to give more telephoto performance without that fourth module. Thus, everyone will instantly know you have the latest and greatest iPhone.

And secretly - That’s what you all want (and me too if I’m honest)… 👍

Main reason is I like to switch between my 13PM and 13 Mini on weekends. No physical Sim is a turn off for me. I like the convenience. They are both solid phones. Ordered my partner a 15PM because it she takes tons of photos and her battery life was shrinking on her 13PM.

Thought about it, but iOS 17 is running so well on my base iPhone 11 that I'll wait another year.

Despite all the advances in camera tech in the newer phones, my photos still come out well. And since creating a shortcut that fakes an always-on-display, the new Standby Mode is working well for me.

I do like the idea of an "action button" but as I probably wouldn't buy the Pro anyway, I wouldn't get one even with the 15.
