OK, we have heard too many times before that iphone lovers would stand and die for what are essentially the following:- "apple ecosystem", "ios simplicity and the it just works tagline", "user experience" and "design and built quality".
Of course, we Android users sometimes can't really understand/appreciate the above vague concepts. Maybe Android users tend to be more practical and really want to see tangible benefits compared to the iphone camp.
Can we maybe hear from members here why YOU can't give up on Android. Note the "YOU" here (i.e. reasons that stopped you from moving to iphone)
I start with mine (using Note4). For me, it is just mostly one word to describe - Automation. I just can't do without the following (in order of importance).
-have the phone auto switch to vibrate mode according to appointment entries in calendar. And auto switch back to normal mode after that. Also during meeting only allow calls from important callers. Other callers sms is reverted. It sends shiver down my spine that if I use iphone I have to remember everytime to flip the mute switch before and after every appointment.
-I pick up my wife from work regularly so phone automatically sms her to be ready when my car is near pickup point. No need to fiddle with the phone while driving.
-have phone re-alert with sound regularly if there are unread sms or missed calls from important persons only.
-after midnight auto off mobile data so no notifications from any ip-based networks. Dont want the screen to light-up at random.
-one tap sms shortcuts to easily sent predefined messages (like - call me, waiting now etc) to people close to you. I just pull down notification and tap an icon and it is done. Just can't find anything like this on ios without jailbreak.
-Android BACK button. Not the basic and simplistic iphone back button. Android back button is global which retraces your screen/page/window you opened (which can span multiple apps). When I use the iphone, it is so slow/tedious/awkward using the task manager to go back the navigation tree.
I am also very reluctant to give up the following too:-
-nfc sticker on my car phone cradle which activates driving mode, have BT turned on and activate music player and google map.
- phone will auto send best wishes Sms to people having birthdays or anniversaries.
- voice calls recording.
- direct USB drive support as well as usb-host allowing me directly plug in to phone to play video. I think on ihone it is just ridiculously tedious. Load to icloud and then stream it back or use the one master itunes PC which takes ridiculous time to convert the file. Too much fuss when I just want to watch the video once and discard.
-auto wall paper change.
-infra-red remote - little thing that's so handy.
-super AMOLED screen. Not matter what expert screen test said, I still like the vibrancy and contrast and viewing angle.
