1-Quality. I've been using Apple products for almost 20 years and have had a great experience with their hardware and software, with very few problems.

2-Support. When I have had issues, Apple has handled them. For example, driving cross country and being able to stop at an Apple Store when my phone stopped working was invaluable.

3-UI. I prefer the consistency and ease of use of Apple products.

4-Longevity. The extra cash I may put down for an Apple product is easily offset by knowing I'll get years of iOS support. My iPad 2 lasted 5 years before I felt the need to replace it.

5-Power. Access to great apps from Microsoft, Google, and other vendors.

Security. I don't trust the security of Android based devices. Google MAY be getting better at it, but open source is open source. There's only so much you can do with security on that type of platform.

Ease of use with family. I'm the most technical of the group. With the same OS across devices, it's easier for me to support!

Quality of hardware and length of time Apple supports their devices.

I would probably say the MAIN reason is because I already use iPhones and it makes it easier to have the same for both. I also find iOS to be a lot more snappy when doing tasks. The app store the backs iOS is also a great reason because there are so many options offered for most things I need daily.

Apps and support.

I bought the Nexus 7, and even a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014.
The Nexus 7 became a lagtastic crap just after one OS update. The Galaxy Note didn't even get lollipop update. Plus their apps are phone apps. Even the Google apps themselves are not optimized for tablets.

I will only buy Android tablet if they are dirt cheap (~$100 to $200 max), and to entertain my future offsprings. That's it.

I use Android as my daily driver on my beloved One Plus 3 (I dont think I will be getting back to an iPhone anytime soon), but I have an iPad as tablet, nothing beats iPad in the tablet field.

Android has basically stopped further development on tablet versions once they began to create chromebooks. Android app developers often don't create a tablet version due to lack of adoption, fragmentation and traffic.

Chromebooks can also natively run Android apps and are the most cheap line entry for most manufacturers. Previous android tablet makers such as Samsung, Asus, and Dell have opted for m-processor windows 10 tablets over android for most part.

iPad currently is the only well supported and developed tablet to date. But even that can be argued with its rather slow updates and lack of iOS fully using the hardware of the iPad Pro line.

Oneplus price is great especially same phone in china is around 10% cheaper than export version.

Be careful with that. Not too long ago a study found tons of malware on the cheap Android tablets. Not worth the price to me.

Not surprise a cheap china tablet would just explode anytime, well a 10x more expensive samsung phone would have the same explode “function”.

I recently got an Air 2. This is my first Apple device of any kind. I'd been looking at possible replacements for my somewhat ancient Samsung Tab A. Around the same time, we upgraded the sound and projection systems at my church. The new sound mixer comes with an app that allows one to use an iPad as a remote mixing console for it. This allows me to set main speaker and monitor levels, and adjust EQ channel settings while roaming the room during practice sessions instead of being stuck in the sound booth. Very handy. The vendor is promising an Android version "real soon now" but I didn't want to wait for it, so I opted for the Air 2 instead of an Android device.

So far, I love this thing. I've found that all of my old apps have an equivalent IOS version, and I've installed those so that I can now completely retire the old tablet.

we have 7 iPad's here at home from mini's to pro's, old models and new models.
not one of them had any Problem in all these years, all of them have great resell value.
for me the iPad is just a great device in every aspect.

Quality. Apple tablets are better than Android tablets. Same reason I use Android phones and not iPhones. They're better.

Ecosystem. I also have an iPhone and Mac Mini, which I've owned for the past 3 years.

Just wonder what were your reasons

Have you used an Android tablet before? I'm a pro and I keep getting frustrated when I hit the wrong buttons. My tolerance for frustration when using a touch device is so much lower than when I'm using a fully operational computer. Give me a keyboard and a monitor and I'll happily debug and work on minutae all day. Give me a touchscreen and if the device doesn't do exactly what I expect it to do, I want to throw it against the wall.

That's why I use an iPad... except I don't really use an iPad much because I have little need for a tablet. I have an iPad and a Samsung Galaxy Tab2. The Tab2 never gets used except for some testing. The iPad gets used when I need a tablet.

I loved my Samsung Galaxy Tab, but there were no updates for it at all. It would not be a major problem, unless all the applications updated were not compatible with the old OS. Now it is in the drawer.

For me Apple is better because of Ecosystem and they sync together flawlessly. Apple update or patch is good.
My LG G Pad F 8.0 is running Android Marshallow and I'm still waiting for Nougat now not worth my time. Google makes some great apps like Allo and Duo will not work on my tablet. I'm disappointed.

I bought a use iPad (original) off a friend shortly after it first came out, somewhere around 2011 I think.. I liked it well enough, and used it for taking notes in a couple college classes, but after that it didn't get much use. I ended up selling it.

Then a bit later, I bought a new TV, and got a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7" version) with it as a free bonus. I tried to like it, but I just couldn't. I hated everything about it. The awkward size, the cheap feel of the materials and build quality, the poor screen, the battery life, the UI (especially the smoothness, or lack thereof, when opening apps, scrolling, etc)... just everything. It was garbage. I sold that too.

Now, years later, I decided to order the new iPad due to the lower entry price (picking it up today after work). After checking it out in the store a couple days ago, I was very impressed with it. The size, the build quality, the screen, the OS... everything just felt very nice. The screen wasn't as amazing as the iPad Pro and the iPad mini 4 on display right next to it, but I think it's still quite good (again, taking price into consideration).

I won't be doing much with it, so I'm okay with the lower price, and not having the Pro. I've recently noticed that I've been spending a lot of time browsing on my phone, so I figure I might as well do it on a bigger screen, and something that's even more convenient than my MacBook Air (which I mainly only use for creating apps). I'll also use it for small remote desktop tasks, to do quick updates on my Mac mini (which is solely used as a media server).

That's a lot of parentheses.

I just bought the new iPad 2017 today. I had been using a Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Plus which is a good tablet (2k screen, 4 JBL speakers, great battery life etc.) but the cylyndrical wedge shape of it was starting to piss me off. So I went to the Apple store at lunchtime and got a silver 32GB model with a white magnetic case - looks great.

Glad I'm back on iOS for a tablet; I did previously own a Mini 4.

I've got a Samsung tablet, Kindles and a Nook and none of them holds a candle to the iPads I've owned. I'm Mr Empirical Evidence guy and opinions are nice but often time clouded for whatever reason so I listen and read carefully but ultimately I end up getting one of each and seeing for myself. For me the iPad is much more useful in many circumstances than any other tablet.
