One thing that is a little concerning at this point (in the UK at least) is all iPad Pro models are still shipping tomorrow, and collection today from my closest apple store... don’t apples stock levels normally dwindle before an imminent release?

With covid, lockdowns etc could the supply just be taking longer than normal to run out? If fewer people in general were buying / ended up buying.

With the Air 4, many casual Pro shoppers could have just gone for that as well since it's newer.

If stock levels are relatively high still, I can imagine apple taking pre-orders Friday with delivery starting 30th... just so they have chance to dwindle down stock a bit.

Or it could be they will continue the current models in some form, not closing them out but offering them at a reduced price. Like they do with iPhones.

But I agree with your timeline as most probable.

Yeah that is possible, especially if they’re getting a price bump this year, plus it will tackle the chip shortage to a degree... going to be interesting to see what happens tomorrow

There sure are a lot of possibilities. I’m very interested to see if they’ve delayed the RC of 14.5 because there is a surprise in the code and a new iPad is in my future

Does the Apple Store being shutdown suggest ordering new iPads starts today? If so I would expect deliveries Friday

To my memory no. This has been done in the past, just to update the site for the newly launched products and pre-orders can start "xx.xx at xx"

maybe?

Some products announced today may be available for order. Others may have pre-order dates announced. It’s really situational

The 12.9" iPad Pro with the Mini-LED "XDR" display looks pretty awesome... I also thought the revised front camera with the "Centerstage" is a neat solution to everyone wanting landscape videos for video-conferencing to look better. Having the camera move to the long-edge obviously would've been ideal, but not surprising that that would be difficult to implement (probably requires a redesign of the internals). Will be interesting to see how well it works in practice!

I will still likely keep my 2018 11" iPP, but not going to lie, I'm tempted to maybe get the 12.9" and maybe gift my 2018 11" to a family member :p

So, where are you now. Obviously so wrong, I hope it serves you as a good attitude lesson.
Wait a minute, you got banned already - ha, maybe thats the cherry on the top :)

Like I said in my original post, iPad Pros traditionally release every 2 years with the exception of 2018. The Pros are selling well with no real competition. Apple has zero incentive to release new iPad pros one year later.
