I don't think English is the first language for the OP but I understand where they are coming from. Stock android is the dullest thing I've ever seen. Navigating the OS is simply not fun/interactive. Nexus' have no nifty features that other phones boast (fingerprint scanner, boom sound, s-pen, ir remote etc). No removable battery/micro sd is the killer for me because if my nexus 5 had these 2 features I'm 100% sure I'd keep the phone for the next 3-4 years instead of just the next 6 months. I think the main reason it's such a good overall phone though is the price point which is only possible because all the sacrifices I mentioned above were made to the phone but it makes up with a fast cpu and a 5 inch 1080P screen. I'm pretty sure that I'll be getting the LG G4 when it comes out though (as long as it has removable battery and sd card because if not I'll just get an LG G3, I really like how LG designs their phones, LG Nexus 5 included)

I can somewhat agree on the sd card portion of your post but I would say that boils down to modifying how we store data. Some examples:

Movies: I went away from storing them locally and just use Plex. This has been great due to the ability to cast, share with other devices and never have issues with decoding.

Photos/Videos: Once their in the cloud, I delete them and since photos is both by gallery and cloud back up there's no difference from a UX perspective.

Apps to SD: I found this useless as all this did was move a very small portion of the app to the card and only worked if the developer used the API. EVen then, app data was stored locally which in many cases consumed more data than the app itself.

As far as the battery, that is the one area where those types of devices hold an advantage and is by far the most convenient compared to a portable charger hanging from your device.

Personally, I can't stand the LG skin. I find it even more convoluted than TW and lags like crazy.

Yes, you recap my thoughts and thanks for that since english isnt my native own tongue:
- Nexus doesnt target the majority of android users excluding advanced users (like you said pure android is featureless, most of people want features, Touch ID, saving battery life mode...)

- Price almost never drops (its a downside to me, the majority of android phones will lower their price within only few months in their life time product)

- There are better alternatives for same price range (G3 has 2K as display, Z2 has better premium design and waterproof...)

+ However Nexus worth money, dont get me wrong, i think its a great smartphone for its price range

+ Quick updates

+ Pure android experience (i mean OS and interface have no lags, extremely stable)

Best phone for advanced users

I dunno, somewhere in West Texas
If you try a Nexus tablet like the Nexus 9, I guarantee you the experience is much different (if that's what you claim it is).

BTW, the counter argument makes no sense whatsoever except for the removable battery issue, but look at every other major flagship save for maybe Samsung and no one else is including removable batteries in their devices. It's almost 2015 so that point is becoming moot. As for storage, you are dealing with a pure android device so first let that soak into your head. Possibilities are limitless. Your 16GB or 32GB Nexus device can hook OTG to a Terra-byte expansion pack that has limitless potential. Limitless roms and system tweaks at your disposable. Make your nexus work for you.

Take a Note 4 vs a Nexus 6...which is more featured device? Do those features matter to you personally?

Nexus devices are just too bare for my tastes. They represent more of an underlying infrastructure rather than the whole city.

On one hand, I see the appeal from a purist perspective, but I still prefer Samsung's flavor of android.

GPE was the device line meant for me. I don't know what I will do when it is time to put my GPE S4 out to pasture. Bells and whistles of OEM hardware + fluidity of Stock android + quick updates was/is pretty much ideal for me.

Stock android + removable battery + sd card + ir blaster + unlockable bootloader (root access forever, or ROM updates once official support has ceased), cant get that anywhere else.

Is there a particular reason that you are so stuck on LAST GEN'S Nexus?
