All of these things sound great! I'm still getting the MBP right away. I'm *not* waiting because the MBP runs much faster and has a much larger HD than my current TiBook. Ta-da!

I'm new to this forum, but not new to computers or laptops in specific. I know exactly what I'd like in a computer but am not so anal that I flood a forum with unreasonable demands.

Let's face it...people don't like change. I've been to a few boards but this board seems particularly needy regarding technology. The MBP isn't even into consumers' hands and people are speculating to the point of being hostile to each other. Let's hope I don't become infected when I get my Mac.

Does it really matter that the MBP doesn't come with 8X DL or 4 USB/FW ports or a modem? No, because you can get external peripherals if you need them. You've also people demanding almost unreasonable battery life, considering they want BluRay and/or other peripherals, never mind the fact that people are already speculating that the battery charge is subpar at 3+ hours (Trust me, I've a few laptops that can't come close to 3 hours of battery life).

I said in a previous post, you can't have your cake and also eat it.

Will I get a MBP as is. Hell yeah. Maybe its because I'm new and not spoiled yet. :) The above are not digs, just observations and opinions and aren't meant to piss people off. I'm just not used to seeing such bickering of trivial things.
