Why is everything not AppleOS so ugly?

Quite right. Apple TV 4K is very profitable for Apple. No idea why anyone would or could think otherwise.

debatable. while I do think a lot of modern corporate design (yes, apple included) looks completely ugly, that may just be because I use software from the 2000s and 2010s all the time.

no doubt they are cheap to make and have a great profit margin. They also have some great content on the service itself. I watch some on a weekly basis. But Apple is still losing billions on the streaming servcie.

There's so many window managers and desktop environments for linux/bsd tho ... highly configurable, too. They can be made to be quite attractive IMO. Better than Liquid Glass for sure.

Apple doesn’t have the same flatness as Samsung. Samsung’s app icons have very little detail and have very simple designs. Look at Apple’s icon for “settings” and compare it to Samsung’s. I should have said instead “I don’t like Samsung’s icons because they look flat with very little detail and effort. They are minimalist in a lazy and boring way.”

The beautiful think about Android is you can install themes or launchers to change just about everything if you do not like the "flat icons". You can buy different Android phone makers that makes things look the way you are used to. Choice is a beautiful thing......

Well those aren't Samsung icons in those screenshots that were posted - That's Google's stock Android.

There's nothing wrong with flat.

Pretty much every display is flat. Like paper. There's nothing 3D on a display. It's all flat. Flat icons on a flat display make a ton of sense.

If there is a pseudo-3D icon on your iPhone, it is, in fact, actually flat.

Flat is fine, skeuomorphic is fine. But as a current iOS user who is looking forward to things like the iPhone Ultra, and has actually bought and used Pixel/Samsung devices in the last decade, I prefer the current Google stock OS design to anything from anyone else. Their design language is very good right now.
