Its not what it use to be on ios 8 for sure!! iOS10 is fairly comparible to ios 9. There are few bugs and shutters here and there but nothing crazy like it was with ios 9 still in March or so.

there´s problem with quick response feature - it lags; and if you write something and then tap home bottom you will not find it in messages waiting for you to send.

There´s sensible difference in speed if you compare to 6S.

I like the reworked notification center. The new camera quick start up still takes time for me to get use to.

You might also appreciate the new sharing option in notes and people search in pictures. But is not 100 % accurate and you can´t untag people from pictures, but it is nice touch. it comes at price of confusing Albums tab.

I have it on an iPhone 6 in my house and I think it's a huge step forward to the 6. It feels faster and the new Widgets work really well. I haven't seen any hiccups in Messages either.

In case I haven't mentioned it: iOS 10 runs so buttery smooth on my 6 that I love love love it. Feels almost like a new phone. Helped me to relieve the urge to upgrade to the 7. Will wait until next year's AWESOME 10th anniversary iPhone.

Same as the others. iOS 10 on the 6 is really good, even the battery life. For what I've seen in this forum, it's mostly the 6s which seems to be affected with bad battery life.

The 6 is only 2 years old and it's still a great phone. Don't be afraid to update. In fact, update as soon as possible before you can't downgrade to iOS 9 anymore, in case you don't like iOS 10.

While my fiancé's 6 is struggling cosmetically (her phone looks like it's been through battle), iOS 10 has been running pretty smooth on her device since she installed the PB.

Let see how it will perform on iOS 11 next year
Sounds like this post is for another thread/topic. This thread is about running iOS 10 on the iP6 which does great, not iOS 11 next year.

Major reason to update for me was Watch OS 3 otherwhise I would have stayed with ios 9 (for swipe to unlock by itself).

Phone is still smooth but battery life has been awful since updating to 10 (and ordered a battery case just for that...it is that bad to me!!!!), and don't see nay major features I would want.... messages it is cool but meh...notificatin are ...well different but not better.

Now developers can really make a difference....but I think it 'll take time before all the "kits" get used in a useful way.

You delete the icons but not the app.

I don't know about that.. I mean you go to the store to redownload the app....if it was just a hide thing it would be under a sys preference... "unhide hidden app/s "

EDIT:
It actually deletes the app and not hide the icon as per Apple (https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204221):
"The apps built into iOS are designed to be very space efficient, so all of them together use less than 150MB. Removing built-in iOS apps doesn't free up storage space on your device."

So by deleting them you save 150 MB (wich is not only icons :D)

About deleting stock apps - they are hidden, how else you will get them instant installed from iCloud ?
"Delete" maps and get them back - one second ?

im wondering. Without 3D Touch, raise to wake..this version almost doesn't give me nothing but slow down performance and less battery life.
(As well as the remove of slide to unlock and battery info)

What do you think?

Your username is MacSafe.

There is one great reason to upgrade to iOS 10 . . . . . . . . Security.

Companies (and Governments) are trying to find new hacks to iOS every minute of the day. With every Apple update new threats are eliminated.

To best protect yourself, you need to be on that latest. That strategy will provide enough protection for most of us. Persons of interest will never be safe though, as the recent FBI case proved when they paid for iPhone cracking. There are no doubt exploits being used now somewhere in the world to hack the latest version of iOS, but unless you're one of the few who are on the radar for some reason, you'll likely be ok with the latest upgrade.

Well, it says right in what you posted that "Removing built-in iOS apps doesn't free up storage space on your device."

If iOS 10 runs so well on the iPhone 6, why does every single video comparing it to iOS 9, show a noticeable slow down? I haven't found a single video where it performs equally to iOS 9.

Dont need a video, Just try it on an actual device. Its either the same or better as iOS 9 as far as performance.

I think it's mixed, some things are faster, some are the same and some are a bit slower. It doesn't really seem slower overall. Plus it's still an early version.

Removing...not hiding......

If it was just hiding, hiding the app would NOT prevent it showing notification... as in Stock app, if you remove it it would not display in Notification Center, you'd still see it in Notification Center if you just hide the icon.

Perhaps you should read the article linked ;)

What does that have to do with space being freed up or not?

You should really read th document;).
The document has been read plenty when it all came out. As you yourself quoted directly from it, the space on your device doesn't get freed up when you remove these apps. ;)

No need to discuss with someone who doesn't want to understand, may be you should sue Apple for lying since they say remove and not hide......

Buh-bye!

Sounds like you keep on missing the point. I haven't been commenting on anything related to hiding vs removing, just on the freeing up space part of it, that the space doesn't get freed up, as Apple clearly states in the support article and as you yourself quoted. There isn't really anything to "argue" about as that is all clearly stated by Appe and even by you yourself.
