It actually deletes the app and not hide the icon as per Apple (https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204221):
"The apps built into iOS are designed to be very space efficient, so all of them together use less than 150MB. Removing built-in iOS apps doesn't free up storage space on your device."
So by deleting them you save 150 MB (wich is not only icons )
Yes but I also red the article and also know the difference from REMOVING and HIDING, and the article clearly states REMOVING.... again no point to discuss it over...Did you even read the text you copied and pasted from Apple? The part I marked bold specifically states that removing built-in iOS apps doesn't free up storage space on your device.
And that wasn't the part that was then commented on and talked about.Yes but I also red the article and also know the difference from REMOVING and HIDING, and the article clearly states REMOVING.... again no point to discuss it over...

To remove: to take away, withdraw, or eliminate:
To hide : to conceal from sight; prevent from being seen or discovered
The article is
"Remove built-in Apple apps from the Home screen on your iOS device with iOS 10"
are you saying iOS 8 was good or bad ?Its not what it use to be on ios 8 for sure!! iOS10 is fairly comparible to ios 9. There are few bugs and shutters here and there but nothing crazy like it was with ios 9 still in March or so.
there´s problem with quick response feature - it lags; and if you write something and then tap home bottom you will not find it in messages waiting for you to send.
There´s sensible difference in speed if you compare to 6S.
I like the reworked notification center. The new camera quick start up still takes time for me to get use to.
You might also appreciate the new sharing option in notes and people search in pictures. But is not 100 % accurate and you can´t untag people from pictures, but it is nice touch. it comes at price of confusing Albums tab.
Smoothness of ios 8 was so great especially on 8.3. But it was missing features of ios 9 and 10.a

Personally, my iPhone 6 feels like a new phone since iOS 10.
I've owned iPhone since the original iPhone, and I never fell for the "upgrade every year" nonsense. It depends, I am still with my 6+, and very happy with iOS 10.

Not sure about the 6 (that's my wife's phone), but my 5s feels noticeably faster going from 9 to 10. Take the plunge!Because the OS has changed a bit? Or because the device operates better/smoother than it did before? I've played with 10 at the Apple store, and while some things make it feel 'new' like the homescreen double tap replacing Slide to Unlock, widgets, and app changes like the Music app -- when I get used to it for a few minutes, it doesn't really feel that different at all.
I'm on a 6 and haven't upgraded yet. I'm not confident it will perform 100% the way it does on a 6S/7, and some of the app changes aren't great to me.
Major reason to update for me was Watch OS 3 otherwhise I would have stayed with ios 9 (for swipe to unlock by itself).
Phone is still smooth but battery life has been awful since updating to 10 (and ordered a battery case just for that...it is that bad to me!!!!), and don't see nay major features I would want.... messages it is cool but meh...notificatin are ...well different but not better.
Now developers can really make a difference....but I think it 'll take time before all the "kits" get used in a useful way.
I don't know about that.. I mean you go to the store to redownload the app....if it was just a hide thing it would be under a sys preference... "unhide hidden app/s "
