You changed you mind good to see. I just read this on another thread from a couple of weeks ago. Good to see you enjoy the iPhone :)

It is only because Apple finally addressed many of the issues that Android offered and Apple did not. I would not have bought an iPhone if it was still using that puny 3.99" screen.

I also likely would have passed on the iPhone if iOS was still using that same keyboard from 2007 without the option to change default to Swiftkey, or if they hadn't added a rudimentary file management system via iCloud, or geofencing for apps,or rich system notification integration with all apps, or ability to add quick view widgets or if it had lacked NFC payments.

The iPhone 6 with iOS 8 upgrades was the perfect storm for me. Many tech enthusiasts that aren't blinded by specific brand logo's likely feel the same. I believe Technarchy is like that too.

I was in the same exact boat as you. What pisses me off is people have so much hate for android because of Samsung. samsung is NOT the only android devices. To me, the HtC One m8 is the best android phone out now with a skinned android

The Samsung experieince is absolutely awful, and take it from me, I've had Galaxy S3, S4, S5, Note, 2, & 3. I've had each one of those phones about 5 times too. The AMOLED screens look grainy and have bad image retention.

For the best Android experience, I'd go with the HTC one m8.

Over the years, I have been using both Android and iPhone. I found myself keep selling Android (Note 2 & 3) off and switch back to iPhone every time.

The truth was.. I was having fun with Android when I was customising it, playing with it, etc. It was a real joy. That being said, when I actually want to use it for a quick phone call or writing serious email.. the experience was just terrible. The smart pen is really awesome, best in the market. Text recognition also works flawlessly in multiple languages (Eng, Thai and Chinese). But when I really want to take a note for some serious work, again.. the experience was terrible. Just couldn't make it work. Later, I found myself barely using the pen. Many Note users I met also said the same thing.

So.. I think my conclusion is.. there is a fine line between "Tools & Toys". If you want to have fun playing with toys.. go with Samsung. If you are looking for a serious tool.. pick iPhone... It really just works!

If I wanted to play around with Android I'd get a cheap 7" tablet.

I use my phone all day and iOS remains more streamlined in operation and the best serious apps are there. Some of the big features of Android, like widgets, I couldn't really care less about. And with like for like processing grunt iOS is slicker and faster.

Now if I wanted a geeky thing to play around with an customise then Android would be great. And until recently things like notifications were better on that platform.

But there is one downside with iOS - the massive, massive, prices. The iPhone 6 is crazy money, even the one with the 4.7" screen - a common size on decent quality budget phones now with others less than half the price of a 6 over 5". And the screens are usually really good quality too!

I will be buying a lightly used 5c as I just don't need the latest and greatest to replace my slow as hell and increasingly faulty iPhone 4, but a brand new Nexus 5 or similar for the same money was very tempting.

With 10million iPhone 6 sold Apple don't need to listen to me but I'd love the Apple tax to be just a little less vast.
