this cheap Monoprice stand charger works with my 12 Pro. I used it forever with my X. I'll return the Anker and just use this. it's slow but I'll try it with the Anker Qi brick and see how it does.

I have done testing on some new chargers. First I received two new mophie wireless stands. My iPhone 12 Mini perfectly star to charge and does so for around 10-15 min then it stops. The same happens on my Belkin 3-1.

Does anybody know if the latest iOS 14.3 RC fixes this?
With this bug and the missing iMessage notification bug I think Apple really have done a ****** job this year.

has anyone updated to see if iOS 14.3 helped and allowed your stand charger to work?

just recheck my anker powerwave 7.5w stand. still won't hold the charge. it initiates the charge then stops 2 seconds later. case or no case on 14.3. I'm returning it. sucks because it quick charged my iPX when I bought it last week. hopefully anker releases another one that works. my monoprice one works but no fast charge.

From Nomad regarding the Base Station Pro:

"* iPhone charge times can vary significantly depending on device placement and ambient temperature. Slower charging times can result when ambient temperatures exceed 74º F. The magnets in the iPhone 12 series have also been found to reduce charging efficiency, resulting in slower charging times. All devices enter a slower charging mode once the battery level exceeds 80% due to battery chemistry limitations, which is especially pronounced in Base Station Pro. Any combination of these conditions may result in devices not being fully charged to 100% after a full overnight charge. Under optimum conditions, most supported devices are expected to charge from 0-100% in 4-5 hours."

Looks like I'm going to be returning it and just go with Apple's MagSafe.

My Samsung EP-PN950 Fast Charger works fine with my 12P, I use it to charge over night on the nightstand.
I have a MagSafe charger with a Spigen puck to hold it in the living room as an alternative.
My Samsung charger just started making tons of fan noise while charging. I don't know if the charger fan is bad or the new updates have it going nuts

Returning my non functional mophie 3-1 and using the MagSafe duo. I don’t like it as a nightstand solution but was fed up with these things not working.

I bought the Mophie 3 in 1 stand as well ... it works, but the phone constantly loses connection and restarts it, so the screen comes on and off all night. Impossible to use next to bed.

IN ALL FAIRNESS: Mophie very specifically does NOT list the iPhone 12 in any form as compatible with this stand.

Unfortunately it is listed on Apple’s site where it IS listed as compatible.

The screen on/off also happened with the Nomad Base Station Pro, they told me this behavior was normal with the iPhone 12 and not something they can change, I returned it.

Using the MagSafe $40 charger now, no issues. I recommend sticking with Apple's offering due to the propriety MagSafe.

I have the SliceCharge Pro and no issues charging my 12 Pro. I considered getting the SliceCharge 3 Pro MagSafe Edition, but will be getting Apple’s MagSafe Duo instead.
I have the opposite experience. Most of the time, mine will charge initially before stopping within a few minutes. I’ve also found my battery to drain quickly while on it when this happens (so much so that I no longer charge it overnight as battery lasted longer not placing it on charger, and I’d just plug in at office to get through next day).

I returned the UbioLabs 3-in-1 charging station back to Costco after a few days. The upright stand charges my X fine and the LED indicator on the stand lit white, but with my 12 Pro it doesn’t and the LED blinked orange. When I use the flat-down charging pad it works as it should.

I then bought another UbioLabs charging station, their 4-in-1 (pictured below) without the upright stand from T-Mobile and that one works well so far.

So I'm not sure if maybe this could be an explanation, but I used to use the charging pad integrated into the base of my HP ENVY 32 AIO, and with my new iPhone 12 Pro Max it no longer charged reliably, constantly disconnecting and reconnecting, while the charging light blinked orange.

And this is where a possible explanation comes in, that maybe is the cause of malfunctions with other chargers as well. Because when I read the explanation for the blinking light on the HP charging base, it said the following:

"Blinking amber: Metal object detected around charging area. Not charging."

So it seems that the MagSafe ring is what stops the charger from working, as it has a build-in security 'feature' to stop it from, I guess, heating up metal too much. Therefore charging any iPhone with MagSafe is no longer possible, unless, maybe, because now and then it DID still work, you place the phone juuuuust so and the distance to the ring surrounding the coil is acceptable to the charger.

Either way, is seems that Apple's claim that the new iPhones will still work with all existing chi chargers unfortunately is just not true. :(

Are any of you using a third-party wireless charger with the 12 series iPhone in a sleeve?

I have a strange behaviour with my 12 mini and a Samsung wireless fast charger. If I put the phone on the charger without a sleeve then the phone charges properly to 100%. But if I put the phone in a sleeve (which is a very thin sleeve) then the phone charges only to 80% no matter how long I keep it on the charger.

Are any of you experiencing strange behaviours with wireless chargers with the phone in a sleeve?

I set my 12 pro on an anker wireless charger every night without issue. The other wireless chargers we have in the house work just fine as well. None of that various cases my wife and I have had on ours have caused issues either.

So the phones charge fine with the case?

Yes. So far, there have been no issues when leaving the case on - I've done it with multiple different cases as well.
Thank you. Glad you are not having any issues. I will have to investigate what is causing the issue, whether it is the charger or the phone. Are all your phones on iOS 14.3?
