Hoax or conspiracy? I really don't know, but I'm just waiting for the first new thread from a field-tester along the lines of "Help - I was in a bar with my new iPhone 4G and someone spilled beer over it. What should I do?"

The OP probably thinks that 9/11 was carried out by our own government too.

Let's not get carried away here, it was the devil didn't you see the face in the smoke?

and I guess I'm just not gullible to jump on every rumor out there, Obviously this seems like it has great support and seems very real, it just seems odd no pics to compare the resolution from this to a 3gs, maybe it's cause of legal reasons who knows. It just seems like a "too good to be true" situation.

Go ahead let the sarcasm fly again. maybe you'll hurt my feelings

There is no firmware publicly available. Therefore their is no way to reload it. the 3GS has it's own firmware, the 3G it's own and the 2G it's own. This would also required it's own. Hence why they can't just restore it with new firmware.

Sorry, I didn't mean that towards you at all.

Just to see the difference in clarity, who wouldn't be curious?

Yeah I guess it is a little strange that there are no pictures of that. There are a couple reasons that I can come up with for that:

A) They did take pictures of it but there was no real visible difference through the camera so there is no point in posting them.

B) They actually do have images of the phone while it is on (not just connect to iTunes), but Apple threatened them enough to not show anything besides the hardware, so they didn't show it. The whole "connect to iTunes" thing is just a hoax by them so people don't ask for pictures of the screen like you are asking for. This would also imply that there is something pretty big to hide on the software side of things.

To tell you the truth...I think its a combination of A & B. I think there may be some lawsuit/protection issues that are reasons for them not showing the phone turned on.

But wouldn't it still power on and just say "connect to itunes"? or something of that nature?
