All the non stoppers.

It's sad. El cap is best since Mavericks. Sierra feels like Yosemite all over again. Just a feeling.
But tell about some of those bugs that are obvious, even if no stoppers. I seriously can't find them.

One I can attest to, and this has been going on with ALL my laptops only since El Capitan: Extremely slow shut-down times. You heard me right, the start up times are fine, but on many occastions it takes a good 20-45 seconds to shut down. Never saw anything like this until El Capitan. My laptops all have SSD's, and they include a 2010 MBP, a 2011 MBP, a 2013 MBA and a 2015 MBP. On several occasions I have done total clean installs on El Capitan and the problem still exists.

On my systems I find that it happens when we have multiple apps open and for some reason the OS can't close them properly.

Having said that, an indirect fix is rarely needing to shut down the machine at all. But you are right, that probably is a bug.

I addimittedly am a 'shut down' guy and not a 'sleep' guy, but to your other point, this happens even when there are NO programs (apps) open.

I was so sure that since I've had the problem so consistently across so many different machines/configurations that Apple engineers would have noticed the bug and fixed it by now, but I guess they are all 'sleep' guys too. Pretty sh...ty quality control, but what am I gonna do?

Correct. This has been such a longstanding issue for me that over the nearly year of el cap I have looked at startup items, done clean installs, start up then immediately shut down, ect.
In every scenario I will fairy consistently (not always, but most of the time - theres no ryhme or reason to it) will get an unusually long shut down. On the 2011 and earlier laptops the screen will even go black, making me think its shut down, but then I'll close the lid and see the glowing light on the front edge, meaning it went to sleep and never actually finished shut down. This happens on even friends macs with El Cap installed.... so I know its not just some voodoo that affects only my machines.
Again; its such a consistent and obvious bug that i cant believe Apple hasnt noticed it and/or fixed it yet.

But to me, its just another reflection of the much discussed half assed quality control Apple has had lately
