I think that's the most idiotic thing referring to a PC that I've ever read on the internet.
That’s probably cause you never built or attempted to comprehend the idea behind building a smooth sailing render farm with for example 80 combined cores. That’s what I call a beast. But since most people just want browse amazon then anything back to 2012 with 8gb of ram will give you very nice results.

I am a recovering PC Gamer. I just recently bought an Xbox One X and I am DONE with the PC gaming rat race. I own a 2015 MacBook Air but I am ready to upgrade to a full desktop setup to go along with the iPhone 11 and Apple can’t update these iMacs quick enough... BTW would upgrading to a 2020 iMac give a decent performance boost over what I’m seeing on this Air?

Why are you done with PC Gaming? I prefer keyboard and mouse for most games, and I prefer 120+ FPS and this is where consoles fail. If it isn't for Persona 5 and the Metal Gear Solid series, I would not have a console.

Back on topic please. The iMac was never intended to be a gaming rig. So you who advocate a 5700XT are going to use it for gaming and let the iMac compete with PC gaming rigs? In that case I think that you will be disappointed. Apple has not made an effort in the gaming market with the Mac for as long time as I can remember.

On Intels press release that said that computer with Comet lake should be available to buy in the beginning of May, so it was released the 30:th of April but perhaps not available in quantities?

The delivery date has been unchanged for two days in a row. Let's see if it continues to be the same the next coming days. If so we may have deliveries in the first week of June.

The best iMacs for gaming Are the Current 27" with 580x, and Prior to that you'd have to go back to 2015 and that Radeon 395x. For reference at their introductions, the 395x was about $400 new, and the 580x was about $400 new, so the card most likely to be in a new "high end" iMac is likely to be about $400-500 "new"...

I think that there is a minimal chance that the next iMac comes with something Radeon 5700 or better. More likely, it'll be a 5600 or worse. I hope it's at least a 5700. I'm getting tired on my 2015 with Radeon 395x but it keeps plugging along and still games pretty well.

I still remember adding a video card to my 1st gen iMac so I could play rune better....

I won’t be buying an iMac as a gaming rig, I’ll be buying it as a general purpose/photography/etc machine that I will also do some casual gaming on. Also, if you look at the used market, it is the higher end graphics cards that are most sought after, as gpu advances have progressed more than CPUs. Earlier 2GB cards didn’t even have enough power to give a good experience with a 5K display. If the new iMacs come with a larger 6K display that might become a consideration again.
All that adds up to me expecting to select the highest performance GPU that I can get in my budget, which will hopefully be a 5700XT.

5700 XT is not a high-end GPU, so I think it can fit well in the new iMac. Yes, it's true that it consumes more watts than a 580X, but it's not a big difference. If it is, Apple can solve that just using the non XT model.

I think I need a translator. So after all these selfpromotion crap it means anticipation?

This just means that he will tell us something, and probably this "something" is happening later today. It can be a lot of things, but iMac has a lot of probabillities. Maybe along with AirPods 3rd gen?

Not really I think. They position it as a computer for everything: for work, creativity and entertainment. With such definitions, the game segment is always included. This is confirmed by the fact that with each announcement of a new iMac or Macbook in their graphic part advertisement they refer to their own benchmarks in the processing of working software and in game performance, too. If right now you go to the iMac page, you will find there a mention of Tomb Rider and F1. In addition Apple regularly tries to promote its Metal in the gaming industry, and in its statements refers to the Blizzard or other game developers - it means that this topic is open for them. And if you look at the totality of gaming parameters, then without much difficulty we conclude that iMac is the most advanced and friendliest gaming platform out of the box among all macs.

In my opinion, this dude is more engaged in self-promotion and outrageous than to predict something. He might not even see anything, but it's worth showing emoji, so everyone is running to wait for something. If there is something to show, let it show, otherwise it is zero exhaust.

If something is happening today, he will tell it this morning. Now he is just playing with us generating some expectation, increasing likes and followers.

For longevity high end GPU make good sense. However, for general purpose use, GPU has been fine for years.

iMac delivery times here in germany are big right now.

21 Inch Models 2 Weeks (with the exception of the "biggest" 21 inch base model wich could be delivered in two days)
27 Inch Models 3-4 Weeks

Base models as in no BTO components.

This is happening soon.

iMac Pro on the other hand could still be delivered in two days.

I have this Idea. New Intel iMacs right now, specsbump only.

At WWDC we will get the introduction of ARM for the developers. Next year we get redesigns, MiniLED and ARM as announced by Prosser, all of that shiny shiny bling bling to outshine that a good amount of Apps won't be running on ARM (just a guess, but see how all 32bit MacOS games already stoped working).
Some, asides the people that are buying anyway... apple has a few weeks to sell to new hardware the geeks looking at benchmarks before the new silicon gets introduced.

Interesting, the base 21" now also has long shipping times in the Netherlands, but not in France and Italy. On the other hand, I think the shipping times have been so unusual for such a long time I start to wonder whether it isn't just really a supply chain issue instead of a new model incoming.

When Prosser said the new iMac i ready to ship Apple is not building any old iMac to fill their warehouse in Prague. They build the old machines when they are ordered.
Also there have been three product launches in the past 60 days. I highly doubt there are any supply chain problems for apple at this point.

umm.. not so sure, what about BTO time for 27" iMac Pro...?? it's in time

Thats because the standard models are now BTO. If you order a standard 21 inch iMac now it's build on demand for you. Thats why BTO has the same shipping time as before.
