I have a 6+ and a 5S. As much as I want to upgrade my 5S to an iPhone 7, there is too many rumors of Apple jumping to an iPhone 8 in 2017, because of their 10th. Anniversary, therefore, I'm waiting until 2017 to upgrade. Either way, in 2017, I will end up with an iPhone 8 or an iPhone 7S (preferred).

Going for the regular iPhone 7. My iPhone 6s plus headphones are still packed into the box and i don't use aftermarket headphones so it dose not matters to me if it will or will not have :)

Prob not. Removing the headphone jack just to make it 1mm thinner is the stupidest design IMO. Many many people still use the headphone jack (me being one of them).

Wireless != better.

My opinion is wireless = better. I don't want dangling cables when I'm exercising. And if I want high end sound out of it, I'd use the lightning port to send digital audio via to a portable sound card, then wired to a very expensive headphone.

Now that I finally handed my 2002 260,000 mile RX300 over to my son and got a new one with bluetooth, it doesn't really matter to me. Rarely listen with headphones off road. An adapter won't matter to me in that case. As, it may only be Youtube or Movies.

I definitely won't buy it. And this is coming from someone who's bought every two years like clockwork and has an iPhone 6 with a broken GPS. I'd rather keep this model or get a Galaxy before buying an iPhone without a headphone jack.

I got a pair of Bluetooth headphones for Christmas and I've never looked back. Haven't used my headphone jack since

Where did this nugget of witticism come from?

Lots of people use plugged devices with their phones. Who wants to have yet another device to keep charged along w/their phone?

I don't.
considering most nights I charge up my phone, ipad, watch and my S7 edge not exactly an issue.

If Apple eliminates the headphone jack on the iPhone 7 (or whatever apple decides to name it), then it better be at least rated IP68 (dust and water resistant) like the latest Samsung devices.

I agree 100%. If not, I won't buy the phone. I'm pretty sure the 2017 iPhone will be IP68 if this one isn't. Plus, if the iPhone 7 got rid of the headphone jack, I wouldn't mind at all because I use Bluetooth headphones. I personally don't care because I haven't ever touched it on my iPhone 6S. but I do understand some people definitely still use it.

Yeah it's expected to be waterproof from the rumours.

I know a lot of people are bothered by this, but I don't care about the headphone jack. Kinda reminds me of when Apple got rid of the floppy disk in the first IMac, and some people freaked out alittle.

If removing the headphone jack will create more room for better features like a bigger battery etc, I'm all for it.

As a travel photog, I'm much more interested in the rumored new dual cameras on the iPhone 7 plus. Even tho many are saying not much else will change on the iPhone 7, I'll upgrade just for the better camera.

I haven't decided yet. There are a couple things that would be a complete nuisance for me without a headphone jack. So the iPhone 7 will need to offer something that can make me overlook those nuisances.

Thats assuming it doesn't have a headphone jack. There are so many rumors now its hard to tell. Last I looked into there could be 3 versions of the iPhone, normal, plus and pro with the pro model not having the jack. And for all I know this was a rumor started by Apple to gauge customer response of the rumor and to see what happens when other manufactures follow suit (which some immediately did).

Putting a bigger battery in was possible at any time...let's not confuse that issue with why the headphone jack should or shouldn't go away.

Not much of an accomplishment considering the latest Samsung devices have a headphone jack. Thats like saying the next iPhone will be waterproof like Samsung devices as long as you keep it in a ziplock bag.

Yes, I use bluetooth in my car and bluetooth headphones. I don't like cords at all anymore...so old school!

That's why I said at least IP68. Hopefully it will have a higher water resistance rating if Apple eliminates the headphone jack as they use their proprietary lightning connection.
