I opened one of my bottles of 2015 Goose Island Bourbon County Stout that I had been storing in my basement on Thanksgiving, aged it for 2 years (shy one day). OMG. The beer is good "fresh" out of the bottle but after it is aged for a couple years, best beer I've ever had (and I am usually an IPA guy). Because of the aging, almost all of the booziness was gone and it was incredible smooth and flavorful. Still have a few more to either age or open this year and picked up 8 bottles of the 2017 BCS this year.

I consumed two bottles of the 2016 which I aged almost to the day a year also. I agree, they are some of the best beers I have ever had. I was lucky enough to pick up two more bottles this year. I was unable to secure the coffee one which is the one I wanted most! Hopefully I will be able to track one down on the secondary market that isn't to steep in price.

Eight bottles! I thought I was doing good with my two! Very nice!

It's from a small operation in Belmont, CA called Alpha Acid Brewing Company.

I have not heard of them! If you come across "Death by Coconut" by Oskar brewery is pretty darn tasty!

A few others I have had that I really liked are:

AleSmith Speedway Stout - Hawaiian style
AleSmith Speedway Stout - Vanilla and Coconut
Avery Brewery Coconut Porter..

I like coconut alot so I try and find them in beers!

Speaking of Avery Brewing. I was able to track down and devour one of their 16% abv stouts known as "Tweak". Holy smokes. This is one of those beers that is pretty darn boozy especially as you let it breath for a little bit. Not bad at all, but it is one that does take the cake when it comes to one of the more boozy beers I have had.

Definitely noted! I'm always interested in trying new stouts, especially with coconut in them.

Stouts and Porters are my two favorite beer styles. I have a rather long list of the ones I have tried via my untappd account. Stone Brewery puts on a "Black Beer" event every year that I go to. They have beers from around the world on display to try and sample. Oh my is it a treat to try some that I know I would not have access to either because of their location, or they are super limited release beers.

Speaking of which, are you on untappd by any chance????

Whole Foods is doing a release this Friday. I was able to get 4 BCBS and one Coffee Stout last Friday and grabbed two more BCBS at a Jewel yesterday.

I live in Chicago so it is pretty readily available for at least a few days after Black Friday...

Not on untappd, I'm not much of a social network person. But I definitely remember trying some fabulous dark beers at Stone last I was in the area. Actually, I tend to prefer their darks over their IPAs and whatnot.

Ahhhhhh. Very nice. We had quite a few bottles but the store I shop at had a limit on what we could purchase and they didn't have all the of flavors, at least if they did, they didn't put them all out.

That makes two of us, this is my favorite time of the year. All of the big dark beers come out to play!~

going to try this one tonight. freddie noe's first release. his dad is fred noe who is the master distiller for jim beam. while jim beam sucks, he is also responsible for most notably booker's bourbon. it's received good reviews and i have high hopes. only thing is this is 128+ proof!

I am, I installed/uninstall/re-installed ... then didn't use it for months. Finally setup an account, my really good beer source in town updates their stock pretty regularly so it's a great way to get notifications of new product.

LOL... That is funny.... I had this mental picture of this being played out.
