A classic Belgian quadrupel stout: St Bernardus Abt 12.
A Belgian classic: Trappistes Rochefort 8 served in a Trappistes Rochefort glass chalice or goblet. Sublime.
Noted! I do love this style.A Lambic beer from Belgium: Lindemann Authentic Lambic Beer - BlossomGueuze.
@mobilehaathi: You like sour beers and tart flavours: This style (Lambic beers - and Gueuze is a sub-genre within the Lambic style) - is very tart and satisfyingly sour.

Found 30 bottles of Torpedo hiding. I don't recall buying these. We shared a bottle over lunch since I don't like drinking much fluid over lunch.
Torpedo... as in Sierra Nevada's Torpedo? Or..?
For those who are into Founders Beer, I don't know if you heard the news but it looks like they were sold over the past week...

So far the only causality is Founders CBS, which supposedly, this is going to be the last year of it's release for some time, which really sucks as it was one of my favorite beers.
I am hoping they do not end up like Goose Island, which still has their stout series, but their other beer is absolutely horrible, or Lagunitas, which has really languished over the past few years.
Oh-oh.
This is news I had not known, and would not be terribly enthusiastic about, for all of the excellent reasons you have just so eloquently described in your post. Thanks for the heads-up; that is depressing.
Actually, I, too, loved CBS - a better beer, (or stout), to my mind, than the already quite excellent KBS. CBS was beautifully balanced, a subtle and elegant yet powerful beer.
And agree, too, that seriously good brands can often end up losing their sense of self in a takeover (or sale) and can end up losing sight of the need to maintain high standards in their products.
And yes, I also agree that Lagunitas - which used to be very good a number of years ago - is not what it used to be.
Oh, dear.
I am a little worried. Especially with the announcement about CBS right out the gate. Fingers crossed we still get some of their beers and they don't change!
I was unaware the same company also owns a nice piece of Avery Brewing which also has some really good beers. Mephisto and White Rascal are my two favorites from them.
Where was the (unwelcome) announcement about CBS published?
That is (was) a superlative beer, seriously, seriously good.
It was in one of the beer blogs I read...
Appalling news, if true.
This s one of the very best beers ever brewed - it was simply superb.
However, that brings us to the bad news: Founders said it has "no immediate plans" to brew or bottle CBS in any format after 2019.
Agreed. I was lucky enough to snag a few...
Here is one link, this one doesn't relate it to the purchase... But it comes right after the announcement.

Yes. It would have been weird if I invaded a Naval yard and cracked open a torpedo to drink its explosive material, I think.
Goose Island has changed in flavor. I didn't know they'd be sold until your post. Laguanitas was always a hit or miss with me. I don't think stores properly store their stuff.
LOL re: Torpedo... Didn't know if there was another wine or alcoholic beverage that had the same name.
I gave up on the Goose Island branding of beer a long time ago. I agree with Laguanitas, very hit and miss and usually a miss.
