I had a couple glasses of a 2002 Dom Pérignon, the other night. I wasn't really in the mood for champagne, but I couldn't pass it up; I ended up sucking it down pretty quickly.

I'm putting it on my list to try, thanks.

It is stronger (and better, to my mind) than the classic Guinness, but, at 6.0% abv, it is not quite at the strength of the Guinness Foreign Extra (which clocks in at 7.5%).

However, it does appear to be based on the old historic recipe and version of Guinness that was exported to the colonies of the British Empire in the 19th century.

I quite liked it.

That reminds me, I have not had a German Riesling in awhile, will have to put one on my weekend drinking list.

In my crate of twelve bottles of wine, I requested that the wine merchant select four different bottles of "good dry" Riesling from Germany (and he insisted on including a bottle from Austria).

Personally, I really love the Rieslings from Alsace, but - under current conditions - acquiring them is no longer possible, (meaning, that the restaurant where I normally source such things is shut for now), therefore, I must make do (and do so, willingly) with Rieslings from Germany and Austria.

Anything really, and I mean anything. Turpentine would do.

Under COVD-19 lockdown with a city wide alcohol sales ban since March 15th..............................

A lockdown and a city wide alcohol sales ban since March 15?

Ouch.

In my experience, alcohol sales - and access to alcohol - make the stresses and strains of the lockdown that bit easier to bear.

I'm having a PranQster from North Coast Brewing Co. It is a nice Belgian style golden ale.

Ordered some good French wine (a Haut-Medoc Cru Bourgeois, and a Chablis) to be sent to my brother (Decent Brother on these threads) for it is his birthday on May 7.

And also succumbed to temptation to order a small crate of six bottles of wine for myself - mostly red (Côtes de Nuits Villages,) and white Burgundies (two Chablis), one bottle from Bordeaux, (a Pomerol), and one bottle of Riesling.

That is a nice beer by the way, have had it many a times! If you like it, might I recommend Delirium Tremors which is one my favorites!

Had a very good stout this weekend. Bourbon County's Coffee Stout, red label... aged it for about six months and it aged very well!
