Tonight I feel like trying another Trappist beer. This one is not really an easy drink, with obvious alcohol and a warm note of banana and orange. Well, I can’t always win.

Perhaps you should think of sampling some of the other beers from the Chimay brewery; some of them are very good indeed.

Personally, I'm not a fan of over-hopped IPA style beers, or - as is frequently the case with the Trappist beers - while I love most of their offerings, I will admit that Tripels, as a rule, rarely give rise to delight on my part.

Reactions: it wasnt me
Tripels are in a hard place between Dubbels (quaffable) and Quadrupels (sophisticated). I can perfectly understand why people skip them.

New Glarus Spotted Cow (farmhouse ale) and Moon Man (pale ale) sold exclusively in Wisconsin. Excellent I have to say. Apparently fans drive hundreds of miles from other states to find it. New Glarus is a Swiss-themed village settled in the 19th century by Swiss immigrants, and very interesting to visit (brewery too).
