Agreed. In college I liked the Woodchuck Amber, but now I just love the really dry ciders. It reminds me a bit more of my beer days.Ooh, I do love a nice bone dry cider!

Sounds good Rhett. I'm very fond of Bloody Mary's. Here's mine -
2 ounces vodka
3 - 4 ounces 100% tomato juice
Juice of 1 lemon wedge (quartered lemon)
1/2 t Worcester sauce
2-3 dashes of tabasco sauce
1/2 - 1 t of horseradish
Healthy pinch of Pepper
Healthy pinch of celery salt
I prefer to pour between the shaker and it's glass. Some people shake but I don't care for the air introduced into the drink. It seems to thin it out a touch.
Pour and add a lime and a celery stalk. Sometimes I toss in roasted garlic stuffed olives.
On the weekends I can be found at the bar or grill...or crawling somewhere between the two.
And Polish vodka (that was a different trip, a different year or two, and a different full suitcase) - especially the Boruvka (the bison grass version) is not at all suitable for a Bloody Mary.
bison grass vodka though is great ... especially with apple juice and a little bit of cinnamon added
In Austria we call it "Apfelstrudel" since it tastes similiar to the delicious dish
Apart of that my to-go brand for mixed drinks would be rather be Stolichnaya instead of Absolut.
Bison grass vodka? Now that's something I might be interested in tasting.
Mind you, I hadn't heard of the possibility of adding apple juice and cinnamon; that sounds fascinating, and I must try it out some time.
dangerously delicious especially with a good apple juice.. i recommend not too big of glasses
it really really tastes like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_strudel
which makes it obviously something for fall season to drink
Who knew there was more than just good ole fashion Russian vodka! (I kid of course).
This evening, with dinner, I sipped a new beer - one I hadn't tried before, and which had come recommended - from Founder's brewery. This one is called a 'Dry Hopped Pale Ale'.
That ought to be tasty. Today I picked up some Brotherhood Steam Beer from Anchor Brewing, which is a dry-hopped version of their classic Steam beer.

I have seen the horseradish called more often than not when it comes to bloody marys. I just never have any on hand to put it in. I guess it is time I break down and buy some just for the bloody marys!
Oh the roasted garlic stuffed olive!!!!
I dig the normal version of their Steam Beer..... How did you like it?
I had another bottle of Pelican Brewery's Cream Ale.... One of my favorites and now the wife is digging it also. Nice, lite, and easy on the palate. Something that is refreshing, especially in this hot and muggy weather southern cali is experiencing right now.
Delicious! I like it even better than the original Steam.
Outstanding, here is hoping I can find it. I can find their regular stuff all over so hopefully this will be out and about too! A "Total Wine" just opened up nearby, which brought a huge smile to me!
I can't wait to go inside and gaze in marvel at the huge selection of beer's and wines!
Just a short update, as if to give credence to the old adage “Its not what you know, but who you know”.
Yesterday I happen to run into an old friend of mine, from my university days, he was telling me about his sons success in the beer/spirits import business. Well one thing lead to another and I’m fixed up for some Founders KBS in April 2016 (12 bottles)
Currently sipping a glass of Trappist Rochefort 8. And enjoying it hugely.
