Tonight, I found myself craving a sour, tart, taste - which meant, not wine, and not my smooth stouts or splendid quadrupel beers.
Thus, I opened a bottle of Trolltunga, an excellent gooseberry sour beer from the always wonderful Buxton Brewery.

A Belgian cherry beer - a delicious, (crisp, sour, tart) Grand Cru Oude Kriek from Brouwerij Lindemans.

Two beers from Belgium: The first was an excellent triple from St Feuillien, and the second the wonderful Houblon Chouffe.
And - are there nicer - and more charming, you just grin on seeing them - labels in existence than those of the Achouffe brewery - because I very much doubt that there are.

Gorgeous, aren't they? They put a grin on your face. (As does the beer, but that is different).
Ha, yes very different! I have only been lucky enough to have a few of their beers, but each one I have liked. Would love to try some of the their special brews but the places around me do not get them or if they do they sell out. But the three I have tried, I really like.
Sipping another beer from the Achouffe brewery: This one is called La Chouffe, and, while the beer is as lovely as expected, the label really is utterly charming.
Still with the products of the Achouffe Brewery (in Belgium) but have graduated to the beverage called McChouffe.
This is the one I have had the most of. I really like this beer. A lot! I haven't had it on tap, but I have had plenty of bottles to hold me over!
The entire range is excellent: But, yes, agreed, I rather like it as well.
An aside: I have never had it on tap - rather, I have simply had it poured - into a Belgian beer chalice, naturally - from those lovely little squat bottles with the gorgeous labels (though they do produce the 750ml bottles as well, - I found one - of McChouffe in my cellar just this very night, a bottle I had forgotten that I even had).
Have a bottle of chardonnay in the refrigerator to go with my Chef Salad. It is from California, 2010 Napa Valley Chardonnay.

Our second bottle of wine tonight was another white Burgundy, a classic Pouilly-Fuisée.
Sipping the superb Meursault - a superlative white Burgundy (made from Chardonnay) that I opened last night.
Guess who just got a four pack of KBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????? This GUY!!! Waiting for the wife to get home with them and pictures to follow over the next couple of days as I get to finally try this beer that has eluded me now for quite some time!!!
