The intel graphics are below the minimum requirements.

Do you think people with a 330M would be out of luck? I'm no graphics card expert, but I have found some random forum postings from people claiming to have gotten a decent performance out of their laptops with a 330M in this game.

Of course, I guess it depends on how you define a decent performance, but I obviously wouldn't be expecting silky smooth framerates on high settings or anything.

Anyone try this on Fusion or Parallels? I have to use encryption software that doesn't play well with Boot Camp.

now you even want to try almost impossible way. TW 2 eats very large amount of video memory than other games which is very unusual for RPG. just don't do it. you can't play it at all. I highly doubt even though you will be successful to load game, then can you see next screen? NO. seriously don't try. for this particular game, 1GB dedicated video card is required (at least NVIDIA GT 425M, AMD 5650M, or better). actually, ideal one is NVIDIA GTX 460 or 560 or AMD 6750M or 6970M. nobody tries to play high power hungry game on virtual desktop. your mac will be crash immediately. if you don't believe me? try it. you will see it.

I'm planning on buying the higher end 21.5 iMac 2011 soon..will the witcher 2 as well as shogun 2 total war run good on it?

Hello

I have a macpro 2009 Quad-Core Intel Xeon 2,26 GHz ATI Radeon HD 4870, 14GB RAM

I am playing the witcher 2 in win 7 x64. on bootcamp

The game give me low output :eek:

I bet 100% sure that you can run total war shogun 2 high setting easily because this game doesn't have much visual effect. I run it very high setting on my laptop with some tweak.

plus, shogun 2 has various options you can change a lot. it has DX9, DX10, DX11 options with each bench marking running setting. it's so beautiful game. try to set yours DX11. you will have more graphic options to add visual improvement.

however, the witcher 2 is totally different story. you will find something odd that your mac will be struggle to run it somehow. so you can only run it high setting with turning something off from graphic setting.

Thanks for responding to my post..I'm stoked now that I can run both..even if I have to tweak settings for the witcher 2..I can't get my hands on a new Mac soon enough

Also, which microsft os is the recommended one to install? Xp, vista, windows 7?

I am playing withcer 2 on a macpro 2009 Quad-Core Intel Xeon 2,26 GHz ATI Radeon HD 4870 512 VRAM and 14GB RAM . and I can tell it is insane, I have to turn off most of the graphic settings.

I am planing to buy an Ati Radeon HD 5870 with 1Gb, and hope the game will rum smoothly

After the patch to improve performance, can anyone playing it with a 15" macbook pro (AMD 6750) say what sort of fps they are getting at what settings. Replies would be appreciated :D

Has anyone tried this with the 2010 low-end 15" Macbook Pro? It seems to meet the minimum requirements except for the VRAM which is half of what is required. Perhaps using lower res textures will do?

this is just bad, isn't it? developers made uber monster bench mark game which is more heavier than Crysis 2. sometimes, I don't get it. honestly, RPG doesn't really need this kind of crazy high spec. unlikely FPS games, or third person shooter, or even racing, it doesn't need much visual effect. they just made very high standard for PC game which many people can't run it normal way. here when I say normal, it means that many people could set it more than medium setting with their 2-3 years old PC. most games still can run on those kind of PC. anyway, if you really want to play it great, you have to upgrade or buy new PC or mac. oh, mac can't upgrade such thing. too bad.

I asked if anyone had tried it and has first hand experience that they can share.

I've been playing the crap out of this game, lots of fun, wish it was a bit longer though.
Anyway, I overclocked the 6750M to 700/900, then set the graphics to Ultra and turned off/modified the following: Shadow Quality down to high, number of shadowed lights down to high, Anti-aliasing off, blur effects off, ssao off, motion blur off, and ubersampling off.
I'm getting an average of 35 or so FPS and it never drops below 23, this is at 1280 x 720, still waiting for 1440 x 900 support.
I have the 11.4 driver of Catalyst Control Center installed too.

I have the following crappy Acer Laptop:

i5
4GB Ram
5650 HD with up to 2GB Ram

Plays on high better than I thought, no major FPS issues.

Not tried it on my 21.5" High-end 2011 iMac. I don't think I'll bother either.

I am playing witcher 2 on my Imac 27 inch i7 3.4 ghz with the 2gb 6970m. I have it set to 2550 x 1440 with everything set to ultra, no aa, uber sampling off, SSAO off, Everything else on. Get really great fps around 30-40 fps. Looks fantastic! Awesome game.

Which drivers are you using?

I'm downloading the witcher 2 tonight. I'm gonna give it a shot on the 2011 base 21.5". But I wonder if I should try using different drivers than the bootcamp ones.
