I would immediately buy a new TV if it supports 3D. But there are none to buy cause people didn't wanna wear glasses. I believe all those kind of gadget therefore will fail.

eh. you never wear sunglasses? 3D tv failed because even with glasses the experience was less than optimal. The right experience (apparently the beach) people will wear glasses. The technology may not be there yet, but thats where it's headed. I think your prediction of failure for all glasses is not going to age well.

Most of the people I’ve heard using vision pro is for screen mirroring and focusing.
Won’t this product be a direct replacement that’s even lighter so you can wear all day?
I've been watching this one and although it seems cool, there's hype juice all over it. The heavy reliance on "influencers" is a sign that rather than showing the real product and getting legitimate endorsements, it is buying exposure. I'd like to think it'll be all the things it says, but I just feel there isn't the pragmatic data there yet to show that. I will see when it comes out what happens!

Sounds basically like Apple "reviewers"

They aren't "bought" in the same way, but rather through fear of removing their access if they say anything too honest and/or critical

The 'ol ... "hey, nice review channel you got there.. sure be a shame if something happened to your access to Apple and its products!"

It's worked wonders with Gruber types, who bend themselves into a pretzel shape, as needed, to support Apple narratives

Very few competent and brave and honest mac web sites left. The mac web has basically died. Just updated this other thread with a 'new to me' site that adds to that now small list.

For me the most obvious missing spec about the Visor is weight. If they're not willing to say what the weight will be, eevn in a ballpark range, that means they don't even have a hand-assembled demo unit yet.

What really makes me think the Visor is pure ********, though, is... look at the Bigscreen Beyond, which is literally the lightest and smallest VR headset you can get today, complete with being custom fitted to your face using a 3D scan, but is still 127 grams and noticeably bulkier than how the Visor marketing materials are presented. And yet Visor is going to add even a basic onboard system and 3 hour batteries to otherwise identical specs, in something lightweight enough to wear without a head strap? I doubt it.

They're having an event on 9/19/24, with a keynote and hands-on demos. They better have some ready! They've said it'll be 200g. The three hour battery is external - similar to the Vision Pro, so it won't be worn on the head. Also, keep in mind that this is a visor. It's not meant to block out light like the Vision Pro or Bigscreen Beyond, so you don't need a strap to hold it tight to your face. It can definitely sit on your ears and nose like regular glasses. Will it be comfortable? Who knows. I guess we'll find out more about this in a couple weeks.

That second post makes me intensely dislike the company. Some cherry-picked stats (where it's different product categories anyway) and using demo as a verb incorrectly.

My main concern is $400 + membership.
Also, I prefer the immersion experience provided by the Vision Pro, although I don’t doubt many third-party add-ons will eventually appear to better block light all around it.
And I wish it could run iPadOS or MacOS.

The idea behind it was great, they have a nice software app, it would be a great device for productivity, software and hardware are very different things.
On the premiere they did not have even one device functioning properly - no demo on stage.
Using many different vendors makes the product buggy and probably it will not be as great to use as on their ads and never as good as Apple Vision Pro.
By the way on the page they still show the product, that after this yesterday's 'presentation' we know is not going to look like this as it is going to have cables, they try to sell something and were telling the production is starting next month, when the product is not even working and the site is still showing some mockup.

UploadVR attended a hands on demo of the Immersed headset.

It didn't go well.
And just as predicted it’s basically a white label front for Qualcomm’s product development. Sniffed that out months ago….

Apparently they forgot the ninety-ninety rule and started bragging after reaching the first ninety. :p

The first 90 percent of the code accounts for the first 90 percent of the development time. The remaining 10 percent of the code accounts for the other 90 percent of the development time.

i wonder if they'll have a single working demo to show anyone before the end of 2024. i also wonder if they'll ever ship anything at all. they've already soft-announced that the device will be delayed at least another three months.

I don’t know, you bumping this topic is the reason for my first time seeing it.
Why comment on something if you don't know the context of the thread/post? The last few posts on this page pretty much explain it all. They said they were going to be shipping mid-2024. That didn't happen. Then they announced they were going to have a hands-on demo event on 9/19 and shipping would begin right after. The event was a disaster with no working units, and we haven't heard from them since. Apparently their site is still accepting pre-orders though!
