Clearly Billie was ambivalent on the “bring” vs. “take” issue, possibly because he did not have the benefit of younger schooling as didst I under Sister Malevolent Obnoxious and her Ruler of Correctible Errors. And whilst his Antipholus got it right, Angelo was never known as the sharpest knife in the drawer. Perchance the title of the first work says it all: much ado about nothing.

I think we should cancel Shakespeare. Too woke.

My tongue was firmly planted in my cheek when I posted that...just messing with the people here who complain about those terms being overused and misused 😉

Yes, given that one of the connotations of 'woke' is 'anti-racist', if you say that you are anti-woke, then you are proudly proclaiming yourself to be a racist.

"Bleeding edge" is the phrase that causes me to wince every time I read or hear it.
Also, using "there is" or "there's" when the correct term is "there are".

Not true, as the term "woke" has come to connote much more than simply being for social justice. So, depending on one's definition of that term, one could definitely be anti-racist yet not considered "woke." But of course, this isn't a political discussion, so I'm not going to say another word about it.

The constant need to curse by people younger than half my age.

Are people aged quarter century and younger brought up by failed parents?

Learn to communicate politely and respectfully to everyone and use the bad words when absolutely necessary rather than as a substitution for a period.

As a South East Asian living in a poor South East Asian country that could be defined as a sh_thole I find what constitutes as "anti-woke" and "racist" in rich nations as sometimes excessive.

Without understanding living standards from 50, 100, 150 and more than 200 years ago one forgets to appreciate how good we have it today.

Another word phrase I find annoying is "check your privilege".

Persons that use it as a way to stop a conversation.

But when you really check that person's privilege they themselves are trying to virtue signal.

I've said the f*** word aloud only once. Oftentimes I'll censor the remaining letters like I've done here. I know it's still considered swearing, but IMO it's not as bad as saying/writing the actual word.

I curse myself but when it is something overwhelmingly bad.

Others treat it like cheese on spaghetti.

It's also annoying when comedians curse (as well as make sexual jokes). I admire comedians who are witty enough get laughs without resorting to vulgarity in any form. It just cheapens them.

It depends. If it is comedians like Dave Chappelle does then it is understandable considering it is part of his act, upbringing and the persons he surround himself with.

To each his own, I guess. I have zero tolerance for it. I know I've seen Dave Chappelle before, but needed a refresher. Literally the first stand-up video I opened on YouTube just now, within 10 seconds he's talking about jerking off. That's exactly what I mean. That's a huge turn-off to me and ruins the act. It's simply unnecessary, grade-school level humor that takes no talent to do.

I rarely watch comedians which includes Chappel. I like Russel Peters... he does curse but it isn't to the degree that it's like whipped cream on a frappucino.

And the cursing for me is largely dependent on who is doing so.

If you're an educated, young, commercially attractive and stylish lady then its a big turn off that they speak like a salty sailor as all persons with this background should strive to speak well and not unlike an urchin.

Wrong. "Woke" is just euphemism for what used to be called politically correct -- but on steroids. "Anti-racist" is a new term built upon, and mostly derived from, decades old, largely academic, critical race theory literature. So the terms are not the same thing.

You hit it right on the head.

PC culture is a mouthful... so they gotta make it less elitists and use a grassroots-sounding term like "woke".

Like the sense of personal responsibility... it's largely forgotten.

I can't believe no one (including me) has mentioned this one yet: "viral." WAAAY overused. And it's especially annoying when it's a picture or video that everyone's acting like is the most amazing thing they've ever seen when it's just an ordinary event or act of kindness that occurs 100,000 times a day across the world 🙄

In the quarter century I've been using the Internet I wish I never had a taste of social networks whether it be

- IRC
- Yahoo Messenger
- ICQ
- Online forums like MacRumors
- Friendster
- Facebook
- Reddit
- Instagram
- Youtube
- etc

If I did then viral to me is just COVID. lol

It's greatly overused! I don't think I've used "viral" in that context even once

When someone uses the verb Ask as a noun. As in, “I have a big ask”. Don’t like that.

A guy I worked with before would always ask me or others, "Could you do me a solid?" instead of, "Could you do me a favor?" I just wanted to scream every time he said that (which was often)!

Isn't urine considered liquid waste and feces a solid waste? o_O

Well, I wasn't going to go there, but, yes, that's part of the reason I hate that phrase. Sounds like you're asking someone to give you a stool sample 🤢
