Try that first. And maybe try disabling one or both of the others afterwards. Now my settings are this, should I activate the "Recreate" setting? The others, are ok like this?
Rebooting fixed it. WOD is 6.3.19 on both my phone and AW.Did you try what I suggested to @Buadhai : checking the watch app is up to date, rebooting etc?
Glad that rebooting helped! 👍Rebooting fixed it. WOD is 6.3.19 on both my phone and AW.
As I said in the original post, rebooting worked. What I'm really asking is if there's something I could have done to preserve the workout so far? Or, in that situation is the workout just lost? Are you sure that the WOD watch app is v6.3.19? Apple often don’t update it with the iPhone app.
To check go to Settings/ More in the watch app. If it is not up to date then update it by using the App Store on the watch.
If it is up to date then please try rebooting the watch as that often fixes action button problems.
No workout should be lost. Even if you reboot the watch without ending the workout then the app should have preserved it and recovered it when the watch app is next started. As I said in the original post, rebooting worked. On the live workout topic, one rare occasion that I've reverted to the native workout app is treadmill. So many treadmills have a convenient place to stick a phone, I've found I like glancing at the iphone live activities display instead of looking at the watch while running treadmill. Not a huge deal for me at all, but wanted to mention it when I noticed live activities is apparently high on your list. I could also see a once in a blue moon scenario where I'd use the live activities for cycling so that will be a cool addition (99% of the time I use a bike computer but I could see a scenario on a borrowed bike or out of town traveling without a full setup where WOD live activities with a map displayed would be great, or even on a stationary bike where WOD live activities for HR/time/etc would be a cool addition). cheersI will see what happens in September / October because the hardware announcements often change my plans. Currently the most requested feature not in the next version is the ability to show live workout information on the iPhone (mainly for use by cyclists who mount the iPhone on their handlebars). I may also extend that to allow the app work without an Apple Watch, which would open up a whole new market of potential users.
So if nothing else changes by the time I have handled the hardware releases then that will be top of my to-do list. However it looks a big year for both iPhone and Apple Watch hardware so it may take a few months to deal with whatever is announced.
Unfortunately it is not possible to edit workouts afterwards. Sorry about that. Strava probably used a terrain model to calculate the elevations. Is there a way to edit workouts once they’re finished? I just finished a hike following a route I created. There was a glitch in the altimeter and it stayed at only 1 m elevation gain when it should have been 461 m. This data exported to Strava correctly but not to Apple Health, for example.
Those map themes are only for the iPhone app. The theme for the map on the watch is in the section below that section.Loving the app. Such a great tool.
But what I don’t get is those „phone app styles“?
I do have:
- workout maps
- route maps
- downloads map
- waypoints maps
Why so many? At my watch I only see one map when I’m on the go.
What’s the difference?
And I also want to have bigger text within the map.
If I adjust any font size of all maps above and send it to watch it is the same size as before?
Do I need to fully delete maps on my watch and then sync again?
That is on my to-do list but I think it has only been requested once so is a long way down the list. Sorry about that.Have you considered adding EPH (Effort Point per Hour) as a speed unit?
That is odd but is probably out of the control of the app. If the Fitness app shows calories for the workout created by the app then WorkOutDoors has done its job. It is up to watchOS to included them in its daily totals.Today I recorded a workout which synced to Apple fitness without any issues (like always) BUT with a strange issue:
It doesn’t show the calories from this workout within my daily activity rings.
They’re missing and I don’t know how to solve this issue.
The disappearing complication is common with watchOS. Usually the best way to get it back is by changing the complication to something else and then changing it back to WorkOutDoors. For some reason you need to make this change on the watch itself rather than in the 'Watch' iOS app.Just wanted to note, updated to 27 public beta 2 and have noted these two issues:
- the icon for this app is no longer available for complications
- the map is no longer functional
Otherwise, the best I can tell the app is working fine, just I have to load it from the app launcher and make due without map functionality.

In what way is the map not functional? Is it not visible, or is it not responsive? No-one else has mentioned this. It may be that watchOS has lost the location permission, so make sure it is set to 'Whilst Using' in Apple's Settings app (under Privacy & Security / Location Services / WorkOutDoors).
If it is enabled then you may be experiencing a bug in iOS / watchOS where the watch seems to lose a permission. To fix it disable the location services for WorkOutDoors. Then reboot both devices and enable it again (to Whilst Using). This often nudges iOS into resending the permission to watchOS.
Are you sure that the complication is not available when changing it on the watch? The complication functionality in Apple's Watch iPhone app has always been flaky but it usually works on the watch. If it doesn't then maybe uninstall the watch app (not the iPhone app); reboot both devices; and then reinstall it.Thanks for getting back to this.
- The problem is the complication is not available in the list to select. First, it disappeared from the face, and then when I went to the menu to add it back, it wasn't available to select in the list. Maybe the app needs to be reregistered as a complication somehow?
- The map screen is visible with the pointer references. But no map is appearing beneath them. So it is semi-functional, but it seems the map tile itself is not being rendered.
If it's helpful, I can take photos/videos of these issues.

Can you see a map if you switch to show the other map source (i.e. Thunderforest instead of Mapbox, or vice-versa)? Otherwise hopefully the reinstall of the watch app will help.
Glad you got the complication working. I don't know what was going on with the map but at least a reinstall fixed it. Sorry for the hassle of having to do that.I tried to set the complication again, and now it's available. I only tried when the OS initially updated on Sunday and I saw the complication missing, coming from the latest WatchOS 26 version. Both times trying to set the complication was from the watch itself, not in the watch app on the iPhone.
I went back and forth between the map types and neither display. Uninstalling/reinstalling fixed it though, so it seems all is well now.
At the moment the app's interaction with Apple's Health system ends when the workout is saved so it doesn't do any interrogation of the Health data after that, which would be required to determine the VO2 max calculated by Apple.Hello @cfc
One quick feature request that I think many users would appreciate: would it be possible to include a snapshot of the VO₂ Max value in the run recap screen? At the moment, the value is only available in the iPhone's Health app. It would be great to see it immediately after a run along with the rest of the stats. Thank you!
