Post them up ;) anyone got images of their ultimate " oh ffs " moment?

i didn't take pics cuz mine made me to mad ;-) my macbook's hard drive crashed and i lost everything. after that i went and invested in some external hd's and now i keep 2 copies of everything :)

I once whipped my Cruzer Titanium thumbdrive out of my bag so fast is spun right around overhand and came down *smack* on the front left surface of my notebook. Nice little ding. The only blemish on an otherwise very nattily-turned-out computer. I was livid with myself though... I'd only had it a couple week when it happened.

I'd take a picture, but it would be royally hard to see in a photo. You'd have to be paying attention to see it as it is.

Oops.

Well, my PowerBook has a dent in the corner, I don't know how it got it (I'm not the original owner). Of course, there's also the time I was driving home with my new Mac Pro in the back of my car then I turned and heard a loud thump...

Don't worry, it's ok.

grabbed a friend's laptop bag to hand it to him, but he left it unzipped and out flew the macbook!

Not necessarily with a Mac but with another Apple product. I had just gotten my iPod classic for christmas the week before when it was dinged. I was extremely mad at myself for having that happen. I was sitting in a Chair listening to my iPod that was sitting on my bed. When someone was calling me I up the too long cord got stuck on my leg and the iPod flew off and onto the plastic feets of my computer chair. Needless to say it left a nice little ding on the front black cover right below the screen. The worst thing was that it actually happened twice. The second time is got a small scratch in the front. I really think that the quality of Apple products has gone down. The old iPods may have been thicker and heavier, but they were also more durable.
Now I have to live with that dinged up iPod. It doesn't look too bad, but still makes me mad. :apple:

A few weeks back I spilt a cup of tea onto my Aluminum keyboard, then spent the rest of the day taking all the keys off and cleaning it. Works just like new luckily.

My brother's 1st-gen iPod nano fell out of his pants and got run over by a car when we were crossing a busy street in Toronto. He totally blamed me for it because I was the one who started running across the street instead of waiting at the nearest traffic light. I felt sufficiently bad that I bought him a new aluminum nano when they came out shortly after.

A few months back I was doing a hard drive replacement on my 12" PowerBook. This is not for the faint of heart as you have to disassemble everything to get to the drive. I asked a friend to do it because I didn't have the guts to; we followed one of the disassembly instruction web sites step by step. One step was to disconnect the ribbon cable from the keyboard. "This is really tight," my friend said. "I'm not sure how to... *RIP*!"

I watched in horror as the ribbon conductors ripped clean away from the connector it was crimped to. "Uh, was that supposed to happen?"

Luckily we were able to re-crimp the connector (it's just a friction fit), there was no damage and the keyboard works fine.... whew! Was a tense couple of minutes.

I experienced similar fear when I replaced my PowerBook's hard drive, it wasn't hard per se, just really really complicated... as you found out. Luckily I took it slow... really really slow and carefully. Luckily I didn't rip anything, all is flawless, including my 250 Gb hard drive in it.

I checked my email before going to bed... Woke up and my Macbook was soaking wet and thoroughly dead. Still a mystery to be honest.
