Would you buy $1000 next iphone or around $333 OnePlus5?

I would purchase the iPhone. I'm not too concerned with the price, I just prefer the iPhone in general.
I'm on Verizon and many Chinese and other makers dont support CDMA networks.
Come back when they do.

I'm still a bit skeptical of OnePlus because they don't have the best customer service last I had their phone. Their Bluetooth in the past had lots of latency, don't know if they improved on that. Also one thing that bugged me severely was at least their first three phones (One, Two, and X) had this camera focus hunt issue in video recording, where it hunt for focus nonstop, I believe the 3 had something minor as well.
I don't think the OnePlus5 will be $333 in the US market. As they work on improving their popularity, which I think they did a great job to take over the Google Nexus market which Google dropped, then they will continue to slowly increase their prices, probably closer to $500 range.
However, I love the form factor of their OnePlus X, it was a slim and beautiful device, if they make an X2 I would consider it.

He might like Verizon, though. I'd never switch carriers for a phone, unless the service was equivalent.
Don't get me wrong I believe everything OnePlus has done in the last year has been RIGHT. They're trying to right the company...
However with that said the OS on the iPhone is the reason I stay with it. The way Apple integrates iOS into there devices and makes them run as good as an Galaxy S phone with half the specs is AMAZING.
Apple has iMessage and Apple has a lot of customers like me...
All that said I will be getting the iPhone 8 or iPhone x or iPhone pro or iPhone edition or whatever they decide to call it ... I will also get the top storage choice and the color I want it in...
I do believe the OnePlus5 is a great looking device though

People only switch networks when one network no longer works for them, most likely due to coverage or price. No one is switching because of a phone.
Very well said. People don't go around jumping networks just for a device... Like going to Verizon just for a Google Pixel ... Well there's a thing called an unlock and Verizon LTE devices come unlocked out of the box.
Point being people don't switch for a certain device they just buy certain device unlocked and use it on there network.

Times have changed since then. I did as well. In the new age of carriers, where everyone has LTE, people aren't switching because of one phone.It's possible I switched to AT&T to get the iPhone...
I much prefer iOS, but I've said for the last six months that if my 7+ gets badly damaged or stolen or whatever, I'd replace it with a oneplus.
I did the Android thing already prior to getting the 6S Plus. In fact I did it via Samsung Note 3 and 4. I won't ever go back to Android unless Apple goes out of business even if that means buying a cheaper older model iPhone. All my stuff is tied to the Apple ecosystem and I will not settle for less to save a few bucks. I generally keep a phone 2 to 3 years! Besides that via my company, I can still get subsidized pricing on AT&T because of our Corporate account.
Sorry... you could not run fast enough to give me an android phone. I'm too deeply ingrained in the iOS ecosystem... and too happy with the overall security and state of iOS, in general.
iPhone. I don't think I'll ever go back to an Android phone until they fix their apps. Some of their apps look like they were made in 2010. No, thank you. In this case, it's worth me spending the extra bucks. I'd only use an Android phone as a backup.
I rather pay an extra $700 than deal with the jumbled, disorganized, unintuitive mess that is Android..... And I absolutely love some of the Android hardware that's out right now but just can't deal with the OS
Or maybe the Chinese can add CDMA support to their phones.
You know...like Apple and Samsung and Google do. Make a global phone.
I see no reason to leave Verizon. Moreove, they are still subsidizing phones unlike AT&T and TMobile.
