Personally I wouldn’t buy a 1TB iPhone but I hope it exists soon for those that want it. 128GB is the sweet spot for me, so I go for 256GB on the pro model.

I had a 512 XS MAX and went to a 256GB 11 Pro Max. I decided that Apple's optimize photos works well enough that I don't need to have all my photos/videos downloaded to my phone. So now I'm only using 48GB. I'm happy with it, and have been since the 11 came out.

I will not be buying a 1TB iPhone.

MBP? Sure.

No, but I hope they introduce one for people who want it. 128gb will be enough for me for a while.

No, I would not. I have no need for more than 256 at this point.

The question I'm contemplating is getting the entry level 128gb or upgrading to 256gb.

I already responded earlier in the thread, but the answer is still no. I can actually survive on 32 GB with no problem, I even wager that I can survive on 16 GB if needed. 1 TB is a ridiculous amount of storage, very few consumers would require that capacity.

I own a 256 GB. Even that is an enormous amount of space on a phone. I understand some people have large music or photo libraries but how much can a person listen to or look at in a day. I store everything on my NAS and access it from there. 1 TB seems like more of a bragging rights than a necessity. Although people will buy them.

Not sure how many people NEED a 1TB smartphone, as in their life will deteriorate without it, but it can be argued that’s also true of the smartphone itself. Unless it’s for work or security, it’s usually just about convenience, which I think is what we’re really talking about here. And if you have enough personal raw data and media to fill the phone—which I assume a decent number of people do because I have well over a TB and I don’t even consider myself that big of a photo taker and media collector—it can be a convenience to have access to any picture, video, song, movie, or file that you want/need without having to deal with buffering, lower quality, extra battery consumption, and reliance on internet companies (which also involves higher risk of privacy breech).

If one doesn’t have the data to fill the phone in the first place, then obviously higher storage is of no use to them. But for those who do, the potential benefits should be pretty apparent. Cost of course being the limiting factor.

I think 64GB is plenty for me. I only filled around 25GB on my now retired 6s.

More space is always welcome though, am glad the days of 16GB iPhones are long gone!

Is my media library growing? Yes. It it anywhere near 1 Tb? Definitely not. I'm good with 256 Gb and will be for the next years.

I can’t remember if I’ve answered this already but 64GB plus iCloud is more than enough for me. The next iPhones are rumoured to have a base storage of 128GB and I think that is more than enough for the vast majority of users.

Certainly offer a 1TB iPhone though as I’m sure they’ll be someone out there that wants it. It’ll carry a high price though due to lesser demand I would think.

I think 128GB is fine for me. On my iPad i have the 128GB model and i have only used about 20GB and on my iphone I’m using about 30GB.

Yeah, I’d be fine with 64GB or 128GB on even the newer phones. I splurged on the 256GB X and have only used 20-30GB on it. Photos and videos take up the most space and I got in the habit of exporting the originals to my MBP and uploading everything into Google Photos. For me, paying anything for iCloud doesn’t make sense.
As a total side note, it’s interesting that Apple charges a premium for device storage upgrades, but Apple trade in doesn’t differentiate between storage sizes.

No, not yet. At 128 and getting close to 256. But I can clean up before I need that. Some of my media is just unmanaged glut.

I keep my media available for offline viewing, rather than streaming, and I don’t need anywhere near that much. However, I manage what I have on there from my laptop. I keep about a month of video viewing there. Only offload pictures once a year. 260 apps and hundreds of podcasts. This is close to Apples original model of using a computer as the hub.

I’m a media whore. I have all kind of movies from Apple and the interwebs. I don’t really like streaming that much unless I’m at home. Not only that but I’ve got close to 50gb of music as well. And all of our family photos. That said I still have 64gb available for a few more games or some point and shoot video.

If the price is right maybe. Especially if I will keep the phone for a few years. I have 512gb now and still have about 130gb available. Photos and videos pile up. I try to transfer most of my photos to an external hard drive once in a while but still prefer some on my phone. Also Apple makes it hard to transfer photos to a mac.

If I travel, I like to add movies to my phone too and they take a lot of space. Sometimes Netflix videos for offline viewing. Always download Apple music to my phone too even if I don’t listen to it often. Same with audiobooks. Wifi and LTE signal in my country is very unreliable. Just when I want to play a certain music album, it will show its in the cloud and have to download it, internet would be unavailable. Very frustrating.

Same with photos in icloud. Need to open this photo or video? Sorry, no internet!

If the price is the same as what I have paid for the 256GB this year and last, then yes. If not, then no.

I fully expect the price to be beyond ridiculous if it ever came out.

I wanted to buy the 512GB iPhone XS Max, but $1449 (more than my iPad and MacBook Pro cost) is too much and I can't justify spending that on a phone. $1249 was hard enough to swallow for my 256GB XS Max, and the depreciation of these phones is crazy that it just isn't worth it for me. If the 512GB or 1TB was at the same $1249, I'd buy it, but I'm only using 90GB and can't see myself magically needing 5x or 10x more space.
