Absolutely: the iMac is one of the best things Apple makes.
Let's hope they don't discontinue them or upgrade them in a boneheaded manner—I'm looking at you MBP—because Apple thinks the iPhone train will last forever or because Jonny is bored and wants to design Christmas trees.

I think the bone headed move was the new Mac Pro, but I see your point. Unfortunately, I don't see apple changing course and the design choices in the MBP will make their way into the iMac
I think we'll definitely see all USB-C ports and a loss of optical-out on the 3.5mm jack, along with a thinner bezel around the display for a smaller footprint (key for me on the 27" model). Definitely a Touch Bar-equipped Magic Keyboard too once Bluetooth 5.0 products are publicly available. Maybe Kaby Lake and DDR4, but Kaby Lake only supports LPDDR4 on the U-Series processor for ultrabooks. Oh, and a Space Grey option too, which Apple will call a redesign since it'll have a thinner bezel too
My 2011 15" MacBook Pro is still running very strong for Logic, Studio One and Pro Tools work, thanks to the 512GB Samsung SSD and RAM I added, but I'm looking at the next iMac as a potential upgrade point. I was going to just get an external display with TB/USB-C docking to leave my interface, monitors and gear connected all the time, but I may as well save a considerable amount of cash - and more power with greater TDP - and get an iMac. Staff pricing is decent, as it is on the new MacBook Pro (but man, did they drop the ball there or what) so I wait with interest.
If the Surface Studio was cheaper I would switch over to MS but until that happens I will be sticking with iMac's. I've owned a Macbook and now an iMac and have never once had an issue. Macbook is like 7+ years old and still going strong for the most part. iMac is about 5 years and never had a problem once.
My old Windows XP machines wouldn't even last 3 years but W10 seems a LOT better and I have enjoyed what I have played around with in W10.
