Absolutely no question about it, a windows tablet. Although I would say specifically an atom powered windows tablet for it's battery life and light size, but at the same time having a full OS on it.

Prob. iPad. I don't need a productivity tablet, I'll use my laptop for anything serious, so windows is out. Until android starts pushing for separate tablet apps, I won't use one.

iPad....hands down. My 5 yr old son was in his room with my iPad. Without instruction from me...he created a video of his dinosaurs having a war for 20 minutes....it was so awesome...he switched the video camera to the front camera and propped the ipad up with the smart cover so he could see what he was filming hands free. The iPad is so simple my 5 yr old can make movies with it........

I have a Samsung Ativ Smart PC 500t and absolutely love it.

I like having the full OS on it and the stylus with active digitizer.

I've had two iPads in the past (a 1st gen and a 3rd gen) and find the Windows 8 Tablet to be more useful.

I'd rather own an iPad. I use my computer if I want to be productive, and I'm not getting an android tablet again because of the lack of good tablet optimized apps.

iPad with an android phone combo. This is what I been thinking of doing. Like an S4 with an iPad or mini for my existing IOS apps. I have no interest in a windows or android tablet.

I have a ipad3 which I used for surfing/video/PIM. It is not good because of no Flash and file system support.

A window 8 tablet would be ideal as I can use it like a notebook.

Although the idea of a windows hybrid is nice, but ipad has so many quality apps and niche specific apps that its hard not to choose it.

As for windows, i have a full fledged desktop ,so a laptop has become an unneeded device for me

Having tried many tablets I still have not found anything as good as the iPad. I have a laptop (PC) for doing CAD, photo and video editing so anything demanding power is done with that particular tool of choice. I use the iPad to browse the internet in the evening, read newspapers and online magazines, and social media. I also use it to play the occasional game but that is very occasional.

At my work we bought a load of Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1's to use in certain product demo's and having played with them extensively with our developer, we've decided to return to the iPad even though the cost increases. They look and feel nicer to the customer and its a product many can relate to. Just my humble opinion. :)

I don't like android tablets simply because of the way Android addresses the tablet apps in scaling. They generally are just phone versions scaled to the resolution without adjusting to the tablet experience.

I have had every iPad and like the mini for browsing in bed, but the way it misses key presses when typing drives me nuts.

I always buy 64gb versions. My iPad 4 64gb 3G model cost me close to €900, I've decided this is too much money each year to spend on an iPad and may just instead stick to limited 16gb Mini wifi only and reduce how much I store on it....

I have used a Windows RT device and found it too limited even by iPad standards simply by the apps available to it, but would be interested in the Surface Pro albeit not until they move to Haswell so that battery life is massively improved.

I like the idea of being able to use photoshop and Corel painter on a tablet fully and given the price of a Wacom Cintiq 13HD and Surface Pro are so close - I think a full tablet would offer better value than just the Cintiq itself (though clearly for drawing the Cintiq is more accurate than just the Wacom digitiser on surface pro alone....) However still not too interested in Windows 8, and not 100% convinced on practicality over just the 'thought of it'....

What I'd really like is a ModBookPro but I'm not paying $3500 for one......

So yeah, this fall I'm just going to see what comes out and if the mini gets retina, I'll buy one (16 wifi not 64 as my current model) - but I probably won't get anything else and save my money and put it towards a Mac Pro :)

Don't mind me asking, why do you prefer a Windows tablet over an iPad in your case? :)

I find I can get much more accomplished with a true computer, rather than a consumption device. The one thing I've always been confused about is when people say they prefer windows only when they want to be more functional, but a windows tablet CAN be a dumb tablet just as well as an ipad can. I feel I get the best of both worlds, I can have a dumb tablet like an ipad, AND have a full version of Windows all in one.

Own several variants of all three. Windows tablets, thus far, are utter crap. Samsung makes a decent tablet, but I'm not a fan of the way apps work on Android tablets in general. I just got a Panasonic Toughpad for testing, it's very durable and with custom-developed apps for the construction business, it may work eventually.

But for now, iPads reign supreme. Everything else is "just trying."

I just took delivery of my Dell Latitude 10 and now have all 3 bases covered.

Windows 8 is just lovely on a true tablet.

I'm curious what you don't like about windows tablets that makes you say they are "utter crap". I've owned almost every single Atom windows tablet and I'd say they are all at the very least equal to any ipad or android device in functionality, although I'd say my current tablet, a Lenovo thinkpad tablet 2, is far above them in functionality and is built very well.
