XDR should use FALD zones for the backlight instead of large unit like on that Dell, so get much less bleed (depends on how many zones as well).

My Nano is now coming this Monday instead of Wednesday! Will do loads of tests and photos for you all :)
Awesome, looking forward. Having seen both versions for about 2 hours at the store now, I'm wondering if it really comes down to a personal preference about the tolerance for this micro noise pattern - in general, what kind of displays have you used and preferred in the past?

I have been on an iMac 27 and Thunderbolt Display for the last few years and the MacBook Pros of course also so used to glossy by now but just wanted a change really and it was your enthusiasm that has driven me to the Nano also! Will blame you if it's no good! lol. But seriously all the photos I have ever seen of it looks STUNNING and even the close up photos of text that you posted look more like magazine print than a pixelated super sharp display which I find quite appealing so long as I can read text nicely on it also I will be happy. Bought straight from Apple so can refund/exchange if needed. Used to have the 30 inch matte apple display years ago and really really really enjoyed the size and it took quite a bit of time to get used to the smaller 27 iMac. I preferred the glossy to the matte but that could of been the better resolution on a smaller screen so much better DPI. So can't wait for a 32 incher!!

Alright, that's good, we seem like having a similar background. Yeah man, I hope I wasn't misleading you, I went back to the store three days ago and once again was hyped up about how videos look on the nano screen. It's just the white pages that I found really concerning. Let me know what you think on monday please.

That DONGLE sticking out of the Mac Pro lol.

cant waitfor your report!
First report ~
This glossy screen is not only glossy - it's hyper*glossy. We will have to initiate controlled lighting (dimmed) for color grading. We also changed the color of a window curtain from white to a darker color. No glares now.

LOL ~
The dongle is for easy access to the GH5 clips.

Yeah every video unboxing I have seen of the glossy ones I have asked myself why did people buy a mirror!

I assume its fine once turned on though of course :)

Yea, I don’t think it’s more glossy than an iMac or so.

I am also experiencing the "dirty-screen" / rainbow effect. I spoke to a customer support person and he had no idea if its suppose to be like this. I do like the anti-glare but I hear that the regular glass has a pretty low amount of glare that I may just switch to that version.
Does anyone know if the regular glass has less glare than the iMacs/iMacs Pro?

Almost matte-nano like Apple XDR coating produce dirty look effect on white surface.

As your reference, I am using 30 inch Cintiq Pro which is have etched glass, similar like XDR nano coating, it’s a bit murky on blank / white canvas. I am compared with nano XDR because so far only Cintiq Pro which have quite similar “textured” glass compared with standard matte display.

But no rainbow effect on Cintiq. The difference, I can abuse Cintiq without worry, often I am put hard strokes and glass was remain unscratched. On nano XDR I think it need very, very special delicate treatment

I'm not sure what "rainbow effect" is that people are seeing. I have two nanos and I've never seen anything. Just a slight dirty screen effect on light gray backgrounds, but honestly after a while using one you never think of it. I vastly prefer that over glare and reflections.
