Thanks for clarifying, so I would be looking at roughly $2.11 for one line. Two quick questions, if I pay the phone off can I just take my iPhone to another service after getting it unlocked? Is there a waiting period I have to stay with Xfinity Mobile?
I am in Oregon so there is no sales tax added, something to keep in mind, but it shouldn’t be much more if you’re in a state with sales tax.

Xfinity doesn’t have any contracts so you should be able to pay off your phone in full and have it unlocked but I would double-check with them first. You would lose out on any monthly discounts they offer if you paid it off early is all.

Overall I’m very happy with the service. I was skeptical at first and kept waiting for the catch but so far so good.

I just went back to check the Xfinity Mobile email dates for my 13 Pro Max. On 9/17/21 (Friday) I got the order confirmation. The next email, 9/21/21 (Tuesday) was tracking info. So, we should probably get the tracking email tomorrow (Tuesday).

I've had good experience with the Xfinity chat for the unlock. Have done it three times, most recently on Friday. Literally the same transaction as you--paid off the phone--called for the unlock. Got texted it was done in under two hours, despite being warned that it might take up to 48. Wishing you good luck!
Can you clarify unlocking it?

I plan on selling my 12 pro via swappa. When I select the carrier only 4 models are shown now that are for sale. I fear that I won't get much a bite being on xfinity vs. other carriers and unlocked. I did pay off my 12 pro to pre order my 14 pro max so that is done.

What happens when I unlock the phone and how would I go about doing that?

Thanks.

So happy to find this thread since there are not many places to find info about xfinity/preorders. I second everyone saying the service is pretty good and in almost a year, I’ve not had any real issues. This is, however, my first preorder with them and I am… nervous. Lol

I have been going through apple the last few years and trading through them also but I need to hand my 13pro off to my son (he has an 11 without 5g and xfinity does not work as well for him). So I couldn’t pass up on the $400, although I HATE the thought of being tied to any carrier. I figure I can always pay it off and forfeit the credits if things go downhill. One thing I’m curious about, if you are someone who upgrades yearly (which it seems many in the forum do), then what? Pay off and forfeit the 12 months of credits remaining? I’ll have to weigh it once next September rolls around but maybe that will give me the incentive I need to skip. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I have preordered from Xfinity before and the phone was delivered on time with no problems. I too am wondering about the ability to upgrade in a year. I believe Xfinity does allow early upgrades when the phone is 50% paid off, but I don't know how this will work with the bill credits.

I had a chat with Xfinity today and they answered all my questions. As others have mentioned, you can either go to an Xfinity Store or you can log in to your Xfinity Mobile account either on your phone or on their website. Once the phone is paid off, you start a chat and tell them you want the phone unlocked at they will do it.

You have to pay the cost off of the iPhone in full and wait 60 days from when you activated the phone to get the unlock code from tech support. Then you have to wait ~1 week or so for the application to process and the company will unlock it for you on its end.
You should reboot the iPhone then check Settings... General... About... scroll down.... Carrier Lock.. THIS will indicate if it's locked or not.
After it's unlocked, it should read 'No SIM restrictions'.

It's on Xfinity Mobile's website and how I unlocked my iPhone. Good luck!

Are the silver 14 Pros really that popular or do they just not have a lot of stock? The delivery estimates are all the way out to October 28th, but many of the other colors are still estimated for delivery this Friday or in September at least.

I sell my iPhone every year when I upgrade. In the last 3 years, I completely paid off my 11 Pro Max, 12 Pro Max, and 13 Pro Max before I upgrade through Xfinity Mobile. All I've ever had to do was call customer support, verify the iPhone was completely paid off, and the rep unlocked it over the phone. Super simple and easy.

Xfinity Mobile uses Verizon's cellular network.
During my Chat with them, I was told they use various carriers and Verizon is one of the carriers listed in my area but they would not confirm that is who my carrier would be. I'm still debating if I need another phone although the iPhone Pro Max sure looks purdy.

I was told via Chat that once the phone is paid off they will unlock the phone the same day either in store or via chat thru their website. I was told there is no waiting period and the process is rather simple.

No waiting period and super simple. They've always and only use Verizon's network. They don't really want to disclose the carrier.

"Xfinity Mobile won’t be a complete rival to those, though: It’s an MVNO, or mobile virtual network operator, that will piggyback off of Verizon’s wireless towers.
"...Comcast has been able to use Verizon’s mobile network since 2012."

Similarly, also looking at the Pro Max model from the Pro model. A little bigger size doesn't hurt but does make it a little unwieldy.

Watch out for the deal as it requires a 24 month contract and you can't pay it off later as that voids the deal so you pay full price.
May as well just buy it outright consider Apple no longer carries the 13 Pro/Max models anymore. Wait 60 days then call tech support to get the Unlock code.

Just got my shipping email and tracking, it's coming from Fort Worth, TX. I suspected we'd get this info Tuesday. I'm sure you will all be getting the email in a few minutes.

Yeah, I caught on to that during the Chat but if I buy the phone outright it doesn’t qualify for the $400 discount. So if I want the discount I have to make 24 payments and what I end up paying for a 1 GB plan comes out to roughly the same as the discount given. Running the numbers, I end up saving about $70.

This promo basically gets you a new phone plus a minimal data plan for the price of the 14 PM. The only upside is that in 2 yrs, there’s a good chance that phone will still be worth $699 in trade.

All this talk about getting phones unlocked.. I will have two XS's I am selling once I hand my 12 pro down to my son and once I activate my wifes 14 pro.. Both been paid for off for years.. Do I still need to have them unlock before I sell on ebay? Never did that with past phones so I assume it unlocks on its own after being paid off and some time passes?
