i love the size of X/XS ... XR is not bad.. but i find it heavy on one hand usage. i dont mind the OLED /LCD screen... only the weight .. i hope they can reduce the weight in 11R...

Yes! This isn’t talked about enough. I really like the XR but it was so much heavier than I was used to. Very tough to use one handed when laying in bed.

I asked this question to myself 2 months ago as well. Turned out, I decided to get XR, and I am VERY happy with the phone. As most of people say, you won't notice the bezel at all. I came from 6s+. The size of XR is DA BEST! It's perfect for one hand use (I am woman). The camera is much better comparing to my previous 6s+.

Additionally, I have a OLED-syndrome. I tried my sister's XS max, and I got a headache right away. No headache with my XR ever!

I planned to keep this phone for maybe 3-4 years.
I wouldnt say it is a perfect size but xs is more expensive and besides it is still big. But same, I plan to keep this around for much longer... unless the 2020 phone has flat sides maybe (BIG MAYBE) ill get the 5.4” one...

Yes XR is super heavy :( i dont understand why this is heavy when android phones can be light... but i guess ill just adapt.

I’m not sure how Apple be able to reduce the weight though? Because, it has such a large battery, (which they obviously intended it to have), that that would be the only real way that if they managed to put a smaller battery inside, But still use the same capacity in terms of what it’s rated for usage.

When people ask I always say XR is clearly the better value and is the best choice for most people but the xs/max is the better phone. It’s a question of its $300-$500 better (in Canada XR is $1029, XS is $1379 and Xs max is $1519).

Which phone did you end up using? I’m still having a really tough time trying to decide lol. I had the X before but traded it into apple.

I got the XS. I had originally bought the max but found after about a month of use it was just too big so returned it. When I returned it the XR was not available and I needed a phone so I opted for the XS. Had the Xr been available I likely would have opted for it in the beautiful red colour.

Well Samsung’s design does use less metal and more glass around the curved edges.

There are trade offs such as Glare, unwanted touches, curved glass more susceptible to cracking.

Not to mention the s10 lacks a Taptic Engine, Face ID module, lcd display with a backlight, a second esim, 120hz touch sensing display , nvme based storage. Which All take up space and adds more weight to the iPhone.

If you look at the xs, it does it in a 7.7 mm shell. Well oled instead of lcd,’but you do gain Dolby vision.

Yeah, the S10 Plus has a lot of hardware for what it weighs, but Samsung has always been brilliant at engineering the inside of their phones, they fit a lot of tech inside and still manage the weight very well.

The fact that it still has a MicroSD slot, 3.5mm jack, about 5 Cameras 2 of which have OIS and a huge 4100mAh Battery is pretty impressive.

If you go back all the way to the mid 2000s and see their Ultra Phone range you realize Samsung have always been the best in making thin, lite, yet feature packed devices.

The heavier phones are usually the Note series, yet even the Note9 despite having a Pen that I charges internally still weighs about 7g more than an XR.

I think the Apple Taptic Engine is what adds a lot of the bulk, and also the Apple dual speakers seem to also add some bulk as they are louder and more powerful generally than competitors.
