Not buying the XS Max, but I can't imagine spending $1200+ on a phone and not protecting it in some way. One drop is all it takes.

That being said, I always buy clear-ish cases for my phone so I can still appreciate the design.

I have a thin Tozo translucent black case coming tomorrow, along with a three pack of glass screen protectors that are half price when ordered with the case.

I have the same case on my X and love it. More scratch than drop protection, obviously.

I do notice that all pics for Xs phone cases show symmetrical holes at the bottom, we now know there are less on the left.

I'll definitely be putting mine in a thin Spigen case with a tempered glass protector. I've done this with all my iPhones since the introduction of the protruding camera; it lays flat on a table without rocking and I find the Spigen glass protectors look and feel like the screen itself. Easy decision.

I’ll have a screen protector and case ordered for mine, and hopefully here and ready to put on it when it arrives. I use the Loopy case.

I have ALWAYS had a case, and screen protector since iPhone 1. Any potential scratch, dent, ding on my phone would really upset me. I have a few friends that walk around with shattered screens, phones scratched up, it looks like it was in the middle of a war. I don't know how they do it, that would personally drive me up the wall..lol - Thats just me, I know many love the phones naked.

So far, so good with every phone I've owned. I did drop my old 6+ once, if I didn't have a case on this, no question it would have shattered the screen, break open open perhaps. All it did was take out a small chunk on the corner of my silicone case.

Midnight Blue leather from Apple, here.

It won’t provide the best protection drop drops but it looks beautiful and will keep the phone in great condition.

naked + ac cases take away the beauty of the design, also with the option of trading it in every year to upgrade who cares if there are scratches
Best thing. I took case of my phone last year when I did apple upgrade with x. Never looked back. Only have a back screen protector.

Case for me, need to buy one next month, for now I'll keep it in my carrying case that holds my 7+ in it's own case.

I never use a case or screen protector. Admitted, I baby my phone a lot and I am always careful where I place it. When I’m on the go I put it inside a sleeve like the ones fitbag.de sells. Or right now I use this leather sleeve with a strap where it’s easy to remove from the sleeve.

I think the experience of holding and using the phone without a case is much better and less clumbersome.

I used to get the otterbox defenders, but now I get the otterbox symmetry ones. getting the clear one for my white iPhone xs max

seems like a crime to cover this thing up but it also costs a mortgage payment. are you cats putting it in a case and which one? can you still stuff it in your pocket with a case?

There's a chance that theives would try to snatch it, best cover it as much as possible. I wont be comfortable using Max in open. Even though i live in decent community with lot of Police presence. Few days back i had my X in my shirt's front pocket and one guy was rushing towards me. I was near the entrance of an pharmacy, i saw him but quickly went inside. It was just couple of second miss otherwise I am sure it was gone. The guy was young, looked drug addict.

Assume you cant get apple cases until 21st? Sure they will sell out!

Many should have them right now.

I was getting conflicting stories yesterday and again as early as TODAY at around 12:30pm as to when they will be available. There were 2 Apple stores, one downtown Philly, another about 15 miles away that showed In Stock...that was it. I ALMOST ended up driving a 30mile round trip...The one near me said "We wont have them until Friday." (Also, the website said Sept 24, so I had no idea what was going on).

Anyway, I had to go to Best Buy a mile away, exchange a screen protector...for the heck of it, I reloaded the Apple Store app, and the Apple store I JUST left now said "In Store - Available Now" -

I went back, picked up my Forest Green leather case.

Picked up the Saddle Brown leather case for my Max this afternoon and it's very pretty. Always gone with Tech 21 before now.

I almost bought a TOZO this morning on Amazon, just needed a case ASAP (before Apple showed any stock on cases)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GPQ7TYJ
BUT this case is sold out, more will come in Sept. 27. 9.99, slick minimal case.

I want something with a grip. (I'll probably get a Apple Silicone case tonight or tomorrow as a back up. Those have a nice grip!

The Apple leather can be a little slippery at first..little nerve wracking, at least for me it was. After I bought my first leather last year, the grip gets better in about a week or two. LAST thing I want is to drop this thing.

Mine, it's WAY better quality than my gray tozo case for my 7 plus and only cost me 4.98 on ebay, took 3 days to arrive though

I buy mine for what’s on the screen, not the back. If I’m lucky, I’ll be able to avoid the phone police.
It’s not only about the look. It’s the feel. Cases and screen protectors just ruin everything about the sleekness.
