Apple is still investigating this issue and might release a replacement program according to the Apple Genius. The transcript is in Dutch and I censored the name.

I got a G0.... Pro Max today, yellow tint. Not so much washed out colors like on my first Mini, just very warm display, raised blacks at a minimum from what I can tell from first sight. My F4... 12 Mini has a slightly better display but from what I can tell, black pixels are more visible, lighted there. The same with my first Mini before this. Yellower display, even very washed out colors, but not so much raised blacks, hardly noticeable. I will give it some days though. But I guess Pro Max goes back.

All have bad way too low auto brightness.

native sunlight, the stuff that leaks through the windows is >5000K

since Edison introduced the very first electric light bulb in 1879, we have seen everything in the same yello color at 2700K. The light created by these bulbs has given off a mighty yellowish glow for over 130 years, making the colors in our homes feel warm and cozy the entire time.

Millennial peeps have no respect for the history

This is why generally over the past decade I don’t like OLED screens. It pops more but less accuracy for the white display. Back when I was using Galaxy Nexus, I went rooting to access color profiling since it was not a native feature back then.

But even my iPad 3 with regular LCD panel shows red tint to it. It was not severe so I just kept using it for years and barely notice it except when I look for it or compare it to other more blue-ish tint iPads.

I just got the iPhone 12 Mini and upon checking on the store and using it at home for the first 8 hours along with my old iPhone 6 and my 2020 iPad Pro, I didn’t notice it has slightly yellow tint to it. After reading this thread, I compare it side by side with the iPad Pro and iPhone 6 on white images, I can see the yellow tint, but not that bad. It’s not washed out and the brightness is fine.
So I just use the color profile and have the hue slider as near as it could to my iPad Pro / iPhone 6.

I won’t go as far as returning to look for the perfect panel in my eyes. I already put a 30 bucks screen protector with perfect installation. So swapping to another unit would cost me more, while not guarantying to find better display tint.
Hopefully in the future Apple use Micro LED tech or something different than OLED.

In my case it’s not a yellow tint is more of a green tint, for me is worse and it’s specially noticeable when brightness is in 50% or below. I have now the color filters on and it’s more or less okay but if a see that iPhone 12 manufactured in early 2021 have better panels I will change it, if not I will keep it. I know it’s an expensive phone, I bought the iPhone 12 64Gb 850€ and these panels are not acceptable but after all the phone is a beast. Btw I’m keeping reporting this issue every week at Apple support.

That’s a bummer. I’d exchange it right away if the green tint is very noticeable. Here in my country we don’t have Apple Store, so the official distributor here would mostly send a returned product to their service center first, not swapping it right away if the returning date already far away from the purchasing date.

Yes, with change I mean return the product for repair. I have no Apple store in mi city, I purchased it in official distributor. But anyway with color filters is a lot better now.

Coming back after 50 pages and nothing has changed. So it’s keep it or return. Well I am not happy to have a work around solution for the price honestly but the blacks are black, if hue does apparently the trick well then I think I will keep it.
Don’t forget to test your displays with grey as color if you compare them, it’s much clearer if it tends to green or yellow or red with a grey background.

This image works pretty well if you zoom in on a grey zone and compare the white lines.

Well I got my express replacement mini due to the volume down button not working but the replacement is yellow. Do I keep the yellow screen with working volume button, or the non yellow screen mini with volume down functionality issues...?

Mine has a green hue/tint is like all colors tent to have a green tone, it’s pretty weird but I will wait until January if nothing change I will keep it. The phone after all is perfect

Same here. Yellow tint on mini. But it’s not perfect otherwise we wouldn’t be here :) but I get what you mean. I am also happy with mine.

I had to replace my 12 Pro Max again due to it having Wifi connectivity issues.

S/N: G0NDR Week 48
Screen: G9Q 8th Nov

This one is even better than the other one.
Looks a lot better in person and these pics are with screen protector on. Now i keep true tone switched on all the time. Below pics taken with an iPad camera.

Looks the same as usual. Yellow tint. See if you have the green/red shift on grey background min brightness as described earlier
Its a lot cooler in person. No green issues but raised black slightly on 0 brightness. No black flickering.

Edit: My raised black are fine to. Just tried it again in the closet lol.
