Sorry I couldn’t clear it up earlier. The shift in the color here is only due to the angle of those displays from the camera. Looking head on I can assure you none of them have any non uniformity issues.
But it is true Non uniformity sucks more than having a uniformly warmer screen. You might have a bigger problem than mine. Nonetheless both are problems.
OK, but still pretty strong effect as based on the "shape" of the phones, not much angle at all.
Anyway, looks like you know and undestood what I pointed out in the photos, since most commenting here could not see anything wrong even I pointed the difference with arrows in the photos. :)

Compared my phone with a friends phone, but on same os, both iPhone 12 max. Both looked identical at launch, now his doesn’t look as yellow. Anyone seen anything similar ?

Can anyone help me with my 12 Pro Max screen comparing it to an X (on the right)? My Pro Max looks slightly warmer than the X, but it’s nothing horrible? Also, what about my screen uniformity? Thanks!

It's not just about the yellowness/warmness/tone. For some reason, photos look more vivid and 'pop' more on my iPhone 7 than on my 12 mini (when I had it). That was the main reason I returned it. Couldn't believe me eyes.

You can't find a nice color without using night shift ? I'm just using the color filter and it looks fine.
It’s too blue without it. I used my 2020 iPad Pro as a comparison to try and calibrate it. I can get it pretty close, but the colours are just slightly off. Still, I’m happy with it now. I don’t need 100% color accuracy. There’s no point in keeping exchanging them when 99.9% of them are the same.

could you please take a screenshot of where did u put the slider for color filter and night shift

look at this photos, at the left my iphone 12 and on the right my girldfriend's iphone 12. What do you think it's better?
btw: the paper image is edited with noir filter to show black and white.

Mine seems whiter, it's but it's still warmer than my ipad pro, macbook pro and iphone 8 plus. Also in grey background there is sort of green in the notch edges but not specially noticeable. Today I wen to the reatil store where I bought the iPhone and I have been able to speak with the technician cause is familiar and he told me that Apple has told him that they are not going to repair the phones and that we wait for the next update. He also has an iPhone 12 and has returned it 6 times and continues with the same problems, some variations on the screens but ultimately remains the same. I can't get a replacement, the only thing i can do is send the iphone to repair and we all know that this is useless. So, we hope that problem will be fixed in iOS 14.4 or later (not to much). I have no choice but to keep the iphone.

Left looks better to me. I don't think apple will fix anything via software, so i would try to get used to it. Doesn’t look too bad in the pictures though.

but some days looks horrible I even notice that the colors of the screen change between yellow/green tint when brightness is below 50%. This is something that make me think it will be at least one thing they can fix along with flickering. But again I don't think they will fix the warm and non uniformity on the panels. But hey, who knows? Hope is the last thing you lose

Looks like the majority of panels compared to X.
About uniformity, does it have a glass screen protector? It appears to show some rainbow effects.
Yes there is a glass screen protector on it. Does that give an accurate picture then?

Usually, I only read in this forum, but this matter made me create an account to share my experiences with the iPhone 12 Lineup.

I got a 12 Pro Max at launch day, used it for about a week, and always thought "there is not this "wow-effect" I had with my 11 Pro Max (I loved it, but I lost it), something is off". The screen of my old 11 Pro Max was perfect and I enjoyed using this phone. Then I figured out why: The dark greys in the dark mode of my reddit-app where a little bit off (kind of greenish) and when I used the phone next to my Monitor, the whites seemed yellow and the screen overall dull. So I ordered another 12 Pro Max and compared the 2 Screens: The new one was a little bit better (sharper, greys not greenish and not so washed out). But it has the same yellow screen as the old one.

I compared to the 12 Mini of a friend, the 12 Pro of another friend and went to 3 different electronic stores, where iPhones are on display. Result: It's the exact same yellow on all iPhones 12s. (Some were a little bit whiter though, but not much).

I also compared to my calibrated Monitor, Macbook, iPad Pro, iPhone XR, iPhone X, Nexus 6P and my ancient 6Plus. All of this Phones have kind of different whites, some are a little bit warmer (iPhone X the warmest) but all are WAY better than the Screen of the 12 Pro Max.

This is a fact, and don't let People in this Forum or elsewhere tell you otherwise. Of course you can get used to it, if you use it for a longer time, but this doesn't change the fact that this screens are the worst I have seen on any Apple Device.

People in this forum are often saying that the screens are "too warm", but in my opinion, this is not the case. They have a YELLOW tint. On the iPhone X of my GF, I can turn True Tone and Night Mode on and it will get very warm, but NOT Yellow. 12 Pro Max on the other side, has a yellow tint.

But that isn't even my biggest concern with this phone, maybe I could get used to the yellow over time... The biggest Problem (in my opinion) is the DULL Screen. Especially at lower brightness the screen has bad contrast and seems very dull. If you go to the HUE-Settings of the iPhone (of course I also tried that) it even gets worse. I compared the same Picture of a Face on the 12PM and the X, and it seems that also details get lost on the 12 PM, it looks more "washed out".

Don't understand me wrong, I am a big Apple fan and I love the look and feeling of this phone, but this screen is (in my opinion) not acceptable (at least at this price point!!) and a big disappointment. I will also return the second one and maybe give it a try in spring or wait for the 13.
Yes this is totally the same as what I have been posting, the screen is much more duller than any previous iphone

I think it's just the photo, the left (new) one is on the MagSafe charger so it's a bit raised up and closer to the camera by a small bit.

Also another interesting thing, the new one has less color shift when viewed off-axis. It's still there like on all OLED displays that I've seen but it's less on the new one. I'll try to get a photo of it if I can.
If you have time can you check if the new one which has less color shift off axis has worse black smearing?

Darn it, it’s a 30 bucks tempered glass. It does looks and feels nice. But I always wear my polarized sunglasses when in my car. I guess it’s good so that I don’t use my phone while driving.
I had the same issue with the Spigen ez fit tempered glass and my Oakley shades ( polarized )

Changed to the ESR brand, and no issue!

Yeah, should’ve done research and even look for cheaper options, but I was in haste to pick this one up worrying going without one off the store. I’m not good at applying screen protector myself. The other option was a cheap 5 bucks protector with a notch cut that I hate to look at. Mine is called Lamina, with 99% UV cut ratio (whatever that means). I’m guessing it alters lights pointing directly towards it so it avoid reflection for clearer view. But the polarized lens on my Ray Ban also does this hence messing up the whole view on the eyes.

I always got the premium ones, including the whitestone dome.. and later realized, it's really not worth it..

The ESR that replaced my Spigen ez fit, has full coverage ( no notch cutout ), blends in perfectly and the clarity isn't compromised at all.
