I just watched this. He addresses it, but also kind of dismisses it as normal apple display calibration on the new models.
He also has said in past videos Apple knows about the green tint issue and are working on a fix via software. With him now dismissing it as " normal apple display calibration", now makes it sound like a little birdie told him that was not going to be the case anymore, which takes away any hope for a fix.

Even if the tint with true tone turned off is the same as a calibrated display, it's meaningless because the tint is only good in that room

There is no fix, and a fix isn't coming, this is the way apple calibrated the displays on the 12 series.🤷‍♂️
If they were actually calibrated there would not be screens varying between a "little warm" and "piss yellow" (kinda the meaning of calibration).

You know there is no fix coming for a fact ?

The screens that are really piss yellow are most likely faulty from factory, the slightly warm screens is the way apple wanted them to be, highly doubt there is a fix coming.

Well apparently even the piss yellow ones are "within spec" ... and according to a senior manager, whom I've been in contact with to try and replace a 12 due to it, they are aware of the much-warmer-than-desirable issue and she was told they may issue a fix in AN update (without any specific timeframe).

Seeing as iOS updates previously fixed the very same issue for 11's that were affected, it would seem sensible that they would do the same for the 12.

Wish I was mate, thats the way these screens are calibrated 🤷‍♂️

That update was for green tint, had nothing to do with piss yellow

I’d never believe anything they say, most of the time they’re blowing smoke out of their ass. 🍑💨

Yes. When I'm indoors and TrueTone is enabled it's a bit warmer of course. (Outdoors it's more or less the same as on this picture.)
All three devices look good. You are blessed

Did 14.5 beta2 do anything to change color temperature for people with a yellow screen?
Assuming not but I heard it has fixed green tint

not sure about raised blacks for those impacted

All this talk of piss yellow. Hopefully a hydrated individual will have light colored urine.
I’m assuming we’re talking about a dehydrated persons piss yellow ?
I gave up in the end and used color filter with True Tone enabled to hone in my preferences. Yeah I know, some will say that’s not how a 1300$ device should be. But I’ll digress.

It's not, and no-one should be accepting it as "normal" or trying to put it down to manufacturing tolerances.

If a base model iMac display had the same color issues and no means of calibration it would be seen as a major problem.

But somehow it's acceptable on the iPhone ?

And you are happy with a dimmer, sub-par display on $1300 device ?

I have always enabled and used reduced white point on my iPhone displays. I wouldn't go as far as calling the panel subpar because I have color filter enabled. I also calibrate and fine tune my MBP panel to my taste. Out the box its not my cuppa tea same as the iPhone default values.
My primary concern with the iPhones were green tint, that was improved after a replacement.

Apologies, I thought when you said you gave up that you meant you had one of the yellow displays.

I gave up comparing default value of 12 PM to say my previous XS Max panel. Right now, Im using a dehydrated p yellow MBP to type this from, True Tone on this is also yellower than what I'm used to be honest.

At least you can calibrate a MBP (not just introduce a color overlay).

Yes, but I also use the color filter, overlay as you call it.

No complete fix in 14.5 B2. Some users are getting better results, but that’s only in atypical situations now. So, still broke.
