OK - first, I'm sorry, you are right, that was an intentionally snarky response. Unnecessary and definitely not a good response around a holiday that's supposed to be for gratitude.
Second, your response here gets a "yeah!" from me - I suggested this somewhere else in the last day or so. It seems so easy: just tweak the display so there's a setting to toggle between a graphic display and a numerical display. OK, can't have both - no problem. But there's enough room in the corner there, it seems, to offer users a choice.

This discussion is making me wonder why I really want that numerical display, especially because I understand that these indicators are not all that accurate in the first place. Definitely some kind of security-blanket thing going on.
No worries. Personally I haven’t had to worry about battery life with this phone. It’s been phenomenal. Maybe that’s why it’s a non issue for me.
