More excited about moving to the iCloud Drive & ditching Dropbox more than anything else.

Did anyone catch if they mentioned if iCloud drive will be accessible on iCloud.com? Also, did they mention anything about storage/price? Is it the same as photos (5 GB free, .99/month for 20GB).

I thought Tim said: 5GB - free; 20GB - 0.99/month; 200GB - 2.99/month?

This is terrible. It's like Mac OS X suffered a heart attack just a few years ago (Lion), and just as it was starting to regain some of its former strength (Mavericks), it has another heart attack (Yosemite) that will cripple it for good.

What are you talking about?

I can't wait to revisit this post in December and point out just how wrong you are....

He's just promoting his anti-apple agenda - little things like facts won't derail him from his version of reality.

Looks nice but I think it really makes a lot of sense for those people are completely in the apple ecosystem, i.e., Macs, iPads and iPhones. Those that don't use an iPhone will not receive the same level of features.

I really think that's what Apple is going for. They've been making moves for years to get people into the ecosystem, now they have a literal "Halo effect" use case to match the business analysts phrase.

Yeah i was wondering the same thing. Nothing looked different with iCloud.com, but i can't imagine them not adding a portal there to your iCloud Drive.

The analogy has officially been stretched so far it now has permanent tendon damage and now needs arthroscopic surgery and physical therapy for at least the next 10 months at least before it can return to work.

beta.icloud.com is still available to log into - my guess is they will make iCloud drive available there before expanding it to the rest of the userbase.

Yosemite Rocks!

To those that care...

Set it up on an external USB 3.0 drive on my 2012 MBA. 8gb ram. I5.

After everything got done loading, it is fairly snappy. No crashes. I loaded all my icloud stuff, my docs, office and pages..numbers..

I gotta say, I am very impressed so far. Everything I tried worked fine. Safari is pretty cool.

To me, this is the biggest leap since Leopard. Sure, Snow Leopard was the best release since Leopard, but it was mostly under the hood. Yosemite is a huge feature update, just like Leopard. I love it already and I don't even have it yet. Haha.

I agree. I bet next year will be like another SL year. I am just not wanting to hear everyone whine about the UI just like they did with iOS 7.

Is it me or does the iTunes icon not fit it at all with all the other icons. They need to redo it.

But wait what size will iCloud Drive have for us? I hope 256GB for free. :apple:

5GB is free according to what I saw on the keynotes unless I'm mistaken. 20gb .99/month, 200gb 2.99/month and available to 1TB or more so I thought I read.

----------

With my current Apple set up I've pretty excited for Yosemite and iOS 8. However I know features will be crippled on my 4S I'm due for a much needed upgrade anyway.

The iTunes upgrade is coming independent of 10.10. They will not upgrade the icon until the next release. I.e., iTunes 12.0 is not part of 10.10.

5GB free is a joke I guess. Thanks anyway. :apple:

You mean Google Drive. But, iCloud Drive is nothing without live collaboration. I'll stick with google.

Yeah, it's great to be able to "collaborate" with everybody that can index your files..
I use Google services, but I would never trust them with my files or mails...

Don't forget that iWork offers collaboration options now, and they work really well.

I love Dropbox and I am excited to see if iCloud Drive will be as good. I am willing to use iCloud Drive and will definitely try it and hopefully I will get rid of Dropbox too..

Probably just missed the first DP. I did notice that though. Still a little bit of chrome on it...

You can do live collaboration with iWork right now. So not sure where you're going with that one.

Huh, This statement makes no sense and is not explained in any understandable way.
