It doesn't make a big difference. If I had the extra $500 for the 2.4 at the time of purchase I would have done it, but not really for the VRAM.

And no, you can't upgrade the video card. 4GB of RAM is probably going to make a bigger difference than the extra 128MB of VRAM in most cases.

What about for Music Recording? Are you doing any with that graphics card?

Since the MBP has an 800 MHz FSB, can't you get RAM in it faster than 667 MHz?

Done to death, this question has been.
No. The memory controller is 667 MHz.
FSB != MemoryBus Speed.

The lower end MBP only has the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 128MB of GDDR3 SDRAM...
Whereas the upper 15" and the 17" have the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 256MB of GDDR3 SDRAM
Is this going to affect performance??? Especially in light of Audio/Video stuff. You can't upgrade the Video Card on these, correct?:eek:

The difference will make little or no difference to any program other than 3D-rendering and gaming, or if you are attempting to run extreme sizes of external monitors. Certainly is NOT an issue for audio programs.

Just wanted to update everyone on my purchase and installation. I ordered the product through frys.com and it shipped via DHL. Boy did DHL have a time finding my office, but I received the package in 2 days with their free shipping.

When I got home, I had a hard time finding a screwdriver small enough to work with the MBP and my wife's MB, but a friendly neighbor came to my rescue.

The installation process was smooth, I followed the guide that came with the computer. We're now running @ 4gb's and 2gb's of ram respectively. Thanks for the link!
