Your favorite Android apps?
I have three apps that basically reinvented the way I navigate through Android because of gesture swipes and double taps that launch apps and shortcuts.
- All In One Gestures
- Nova Launcher Prime
- Swipe Home Button
Each app is complimentary to one another. I try to avoid overlap that results in accidental taps. I have some actions linked TWICE. For example, Screen Off & Lock has Nova's swipe up gesture and All In One Gestures where I short tap the status bar in the left area followed by a long press. I did this because sometimes if I am on BlinkFeed, I can't swipe up for Screen Off. And a simple double tap would make it too easy to trigger it or BlinkFeed accidentally.
All In One Gestures have swipes starting from the left and right sides, status bar taps, and the back button action. Swiping from the left edge linked to home button makes apps look like it is being flicked back to the right. You can hide unwanted icons on the homescreen and avoid virtual menu buttons. This app is probably the most important one for gesture swipes and double taps on status bar.
Nova Prime have the most gestures linked to launch apps for me. Double tap for HTC Sense Launcher under shortcut/activities is slick. I can generally use two different app drawers with Sense and Nova with just a double tap. The key ILLUSION is to use the app animation Slide under Look & Feel. Forget System, ICS, and Jelly Bean. Use SLIDE. Makes it feel webOS-ish slick but with apps sliding left or right horizontally.
Swipe Home Button is not complimentary to phones with on-screen buttons unless you like to disable/hide them via root or toggle dock via Nova, but is beneficial for physical home buttons that wear out like on Samsungs and has swipe to play next track. If I swipe up toward right, it triggers my music player without me needing to open the app itself. Great when shuffling songs. Perhaps the least important to me now, but it got the ball rolling for me first and still complimentary nonetheless.
