Try NiLS with the floating panel. its much more reliable once you get everything snug. it doesn't have presets for notifications like weather and whatnot, but more usefully ties into android notifications and works with most apps.

Tried Nils. Didnt like it because it kept giving me two seperate windows of notifications of the same things. It was annoying.

Added and changed tweak -

All In One Gestures
Short-Long Press Right Area - Screen Off

So whether left or right area, the entire status bar can go screen off after a short tap-long press. That is how much I love Screen Off & Lock and its animations. Linked to status bar taps, notification shortcut, and swipe up gesture in homescreen.

Nova Launcher Prime
Home Button Action - Recent Apps
Swipe Down - Expand Notifications

But generally I tweak my settings every few days depending on my mood. Nothing is ever permanent.

Some days, I like to swipe down for app drawer and then swipe up from the bottom with the Swipe Home Button gesture to go back. Other times I like to swipe down to expand my notifications so I don't need my right thumb to travel that far up. I use Notification Toggle app to check my battery percentage. I don't like it right in front of me on the status bar. I get OCD watching my batt level drop. Better to keep it hidden in the notifications. Recent apps as home button action can also get in the way. I decided to put it back so it becomes one button press at home instead of two. If accidental presses again, I will turn it off that action again.

Also keep the slide distance in All In One Gestures Edge Preferences at 50px or higher. The default 20px is too short. Almost like a tap and not a slide. When you use your keyboard, tapping a Q or P on the far edges of the screen could trigger a home or back gesture. I found 50px to be the right balance. Just make sure to have a gesture linked to these app settings in case you need to disable them sometimes. And under a Notes app, list every gesture and settings as a memo.

Using those gesture swipes makes it feel like I'm using Nokia N9 with Meego. Love Android. It challenges my mind and pushes myself to make using it better. Best mobile OS for me. So much depth and versatility.

Yeah you have to not have the widget running. It annoyed me too then I figured out how to get rid of it. Just run the floating panel.

These are the ones I use the most:

NiLS
DataSync - will sync app data through dropbox. For example you can continue a game progress on one device from where you left it on another device.
SmoothSync apps
1Password beta
Humble Bundle app
Retune - like the Apple Remote app for itunes
Simple Note
Firefox beta
Plex
TuneIn Radio Pro

I'm rooted so I also use:
Greenify
Stickmount
Xposed framerwork with GravityBox, etc.

Here's my list:

AllCast
AppLock
Light Flow
Root Explorer (blows away just about any other file explorer app I've tried...of course, that's only my opinion)
Titanium Backup (Pro)
CloudMagic

Android Central
Pocket casts
Franco kernel
All Google apps:D

Doesn't GravityBox slow your phone down?

Me neither, but the only things I use gravitybox for is change quicksettings and home button shortcuts lol

Finally tried out the nine exchange app

I should have tried it sooner, great features.

And app level lockdown rather than device lockdown

Very nice

Any idea when it's coming out of beta?
I'm getting fed up with how horrible 1password reader looks.

Apart from mentioning that it's close in a recent newsletter, they stepped up seeding the beta releases since last week so I'd say soon enough. It's going to be free as a reader with an inapp purchase to fully unlock.

I am not app crazy, I actually use very few.
This I install on every device and that is about all I use
Nova Launcher and Prime
Google Voice
Evernote
Chrome
Gmail
Doggcatcher
Handscent
Play Music
Maps
Rewards

Oh and I like to play games but not really into apps. I never check the app store app section, just the game section

Don't use it anymore since I don't do security locks, but App Locker is a very useful app for nosy girlfriends that check your text messages, contact history, and all your pictures. You can choose which apps will require a pass code or gesture.

EvolveSMS - Better than Textra, Chomp, and really everything else IMO
Blue Mail - Awesome email client. Supports tons of email providers and has a sleek interface. Way better than K9
Fleksy - Awesome keyboard with a great design. I started hating swiftkey with a passion, this is a great alternative.

Evolve looks like Hangouts but with the functionality that Hangouts is lacking.

Does Blue Mail have autocomplete for addresses you've used in the past?

Some of my favorite cross-platform apps -

Opera Mini
Viber
Pocket
Shazam
Yahoo! Sports (older version)
Flixster (older version)
Pandora (older version)

I love that App Backup & Restore keeps me on some older versions. I hate the logos or new layouts for a few of them.

I really like Flipboard esp for a double tap gesture which I did for my Stepdad's Galaxy Note II. Makes a better alternative than BlinkFeed.

I think Google is becoming a little more strict on requirements. I hated that they will stop the Talkatone app from making calls using our Google Voice number. They are acting more Apple-ish. But at the same time, I can understand why. Gmail has 1B users. I would love if Google returns the favor to Apple and keeps their Google apps exclusively to Android users. Karma is a b!tch. Let Apple come up with their own apps and services.

RedPhone: Encrypted VOIP

TextSecure: Encrypted SMS

DroidWall: Bets solution there is for blocking internet access for the apps I specify

Torque Pro: Great OBDII scanner

ES File Explorer: Best file explorer I have found

Titanium Backup: Lets me delete system apps

Terminal Emulator: Self explanatory and very good

Google Music probably just because i use it so much in conjunction with All Access.
