It’s the one series I completely skipped and it’s the 5/5s/SE. It started with the 4 which was beautiful in its own right at the time, then refined with the 4S, then the form factor was further refined with the 5, slimmer, lighter, smooth aluminum finish on the back and the 5S in gold was the pinnacle of iPhone designs with bezels.

I think the X is definitely up there, but I see the design getting refined more, it’s just the beginning of the bezel-less form factor.

5/5S/SE. Smartphones, IMO, peaked around that time and nothing interesting has happened since. They were powerful enough to last longer than a couple years like previous generation phones (I'm still using a 4.5 year old 5S and I used to buy new iPhones every 2 years). This design has a good look that still looks good today and, IMO, looks better than the X. It has a screen size that is about as big as you can get with normal sized hands and be able to reach every corner of the screen without needing a second hand.

I would agree with that.

The 4/4S was a total game-changer for Apple and for cellphones.

Even though I returned it, I believe the X is basically in the same class. I think the hardware is brilliant - for me, the UX was not great. I look forward to Apple tweaking iOS 12 to make the X and other FR phones work more naturally and predictably (my opinions; YMMV).

I like (and still like) the 5/SE size, but the 4 was a sexy little thing. I like the X almost as much as the 4.

All the iPhones made me say, "These are great phones," but the 4 and X make me think, "These are great objects." They're wonderful to hold even before turning them on.

The 8. Not to be confused with 6, 6S, or 7. The 8 is gorgeous and the glass back affords it something the other 3 in the family just don't have.

4. I think that model was the first time I looked at some pictures and thought ..wow.. this is a phone. An example. I think this was out of a window.

..the 8/8 Plus .. from a hardware perspective is the best iPhone since the 4.

There might be something wrong with X which you don't like?? (otherwise the design is same)

Strange!!!......

4/4S design is still favorite among the most?!
(According to this pole)

Although an initial critic of the notch, in use I find the X the greatest of pleasures to use. After 4 months it still has a Wow factor every time I pick it up. The incredible screen, natural swipe interface and high quality feel. No other iPhone has had such an impact.
