Agree FID will not suit everyone?

Which iPhone are you using now?
And what's your future plan?
8 Plus.
Not keep a phone outside of 14 days with an issue that is annoying as hell.

I love the 8 Plus but loathe the speaker issue. ..well-documented here by me.

3G/3GS for me, then 6/7/8.

I will never understand the love for the 4/5. Too many right angles for me.

The 5 and the 8 are both spectacular in their own ways, both are opposite extremes of one another, yet stunning. The 4 was nice, but a bit chunky with the double sided thick glasses.

I agree 100%. Love the iPhone 5 design. For me it was and still is the perfect size. I use my SE a lot. I have an 8 but always go back to popping my sim into the SE for the form factor and ease of one handed use.

Is the 5 noticeably smaller than the 8?

Design wise, iPhone 4/4S. At that time, it's quite a joy holding it, with its weight and glass+aluminum. Note that this was in the days where every other phones were plastic. Even Google copied the glass back with the Nexus 4.

iPhone 5 was also quite surprising when I hold it, that it was so light while having so much tech inside.

The 4 will always be my most memorable iPhone. Both in terms of design, wow factor and excitement. The jump to retina was incredible, the glass sandwich design, the camera, it was leaps and bounds above everything else! I remember making a news video with it on the newly realised iOS version of iMovie. Couldn't believe it! (I still have the video floating about somewhere too!)

I loved the size of the 5 when I got it, but after getting a 6+ later on I can no longer use it as a primary phone. I'm still carrying my 5 around though as a secondary phone.

The design though was perfect, which is why if I could have my way and just size the 5 as it is up to the plus phones size I'd buy one.

Of course…it's typical that I would latch on to the first iPhone that Apple discontinued after a year. :(

I picked 5S (SE), 8 and X.

I'd say X is the nicest even with the notch which having seen it in person has really grown on me (it's just that I can't justify the "high luxury" price region that flagships have ended up in) and makes the others look dated. I love both the 5S and 6/7/8 designs about equally... but I'd pick 8 second place for it being more modern and having the glass back etc, whilst obviously the 5S/SE wins on a combination of nostalgia / iconic design, and being good for one handed use.

When the 4 debuted it was very refreshing in the entire industry.

* Substatial weight (like the Nokia brick phone) gave a bonus defence weapon ;)
* Metal and oddly enough that glass seemed to not break so easily when dropped on the back.

My pics: 5S, 7, and the X.

5S Design personally I felt was a refinement of the 4 (still metal housing, no glass was a benefit, camphered edges made you feel something solid and substantial and that little glimmer was sweet.

7 Design .. I still own one ... love the camera bump compared to the 6/6S. When the leak of the 7 in charcoal blue started circling the web I knew I wanted that. Even looked high/low for a case just in case it wasn't official.

X Design. The bump never bothered me nor did the hairline notch. smooth metal edge is nice yet I think a decal / case is necessary for grip ... I'll not know until I own one. Edge to Edge Display ... need I say more?!

I think the best desgin is iPhone 4/4s,
if apple will release hybrid of 4s and 5s (4s's design and 5s's size) that will be perfect for me

The iPhone 7 matte black is Apples best looking phone in my opinion.

I agree the Matte black is definitely Apples best color in the last few years for iPhone releases, but more important to me, just holding the iPhone 7 in the hand was extremely comfortable with the rounded edges.

From Best to Worse:

4s
5s
5
6/6s
7
iPhone 1
3G/3Gs
8
And the worst...

X

I absolutely despise that Phone. The 8 is bad too, but the X takes the cake. It's composition is Metal, Glass, and Glue. I'm not a fan of how it's constructed. I've seen the glass misaligned on many devices. The camera bump is ridiculous, and it's obvious that it's not designed well based on the reports of dust under the glass. The finish on the Space Gray models peeling, that's a problem. In terms of durability, I'm not too keen on treating it like a precious heirloom. I could go on and on but I'll leave leave it at that.
