Correct me if I'm wrong, but YouTube for Android had this interface for more than a year? I don't mind the new look/interface, but the red bar at the top on iOS seems very thick compared to Android:

Furthermore, YouTube for iOS displays "watched" videos while Android YouTube somehow doesn't...

Yes the Android version has been like that for a while now, because Google is using material design on it. They promised a similar design for iOS - and here it is.

Well you can go back if you have a back up of the older version. Just delete the app on your device and then hook up to iTunes and install the YouTube app and sync. The older version will be back. :D

Well, mine updated on its own and I reverted back to the old app. This morning my 6S Plus wouldn't turn on and I had to hold the power button and home key down to get it back on. When I checked the YT app, it had reverted back to the new red background. I don't know if my phone shutting down had anything to do with YT updating on its own, but that has never happened before.

The red bar is indeed huge. What a bad GUI is this. I already started using YouPlayer a few weeks ago since they supported PiP and Slide Over. I will see how that will turn out to use as my main app on both iPhone and iPad for YouTube untill YouTube comes up with a better solution for this GUI (and PiP support).

I like the design, but when you scroll down, the red areas should be reduced (like what Safari does to the address bar).

Nice design, super glitchy, so far not as good as their previous GUI - but it'll probably get better
