ZiPhone Mac GUI released - Thanks Arix!!!

This GUI uses the updated ziphone unix code, terminal etc so it will do everything that ziphone will do only with a nice interface.

Again thanks arix for your hardwork

Btw, just released version 0.5.1. No touch support yet though :( I'm working on it, although someone smarter than me will probably get it out first ;)

Hello, I'm quite new to this....does this mean I can buy an iphone and use all the non-phone features until my Verizon contract is up in November and then activate it and use it with ATT? Can I use an iphone with Verizon after this hack? Thanks!

Hey Aaron,

Verizon uses a technology called CDMA while the iPhone uses GSM. So you can't use Verizon with your iPhone. However, you can, as you said, buy an iPhone and jailbreak it with this, then use the non-phone features until your contract is up. :)
 
best unlock utility out yet. worked flawlessly on intel imac running 10.5.2 and itunes 7.6 / clean 1.1.3 with 4.6 boot. highly recommended.

I have a 1.1.2 otb upgraded to 1.1.3 . I have used the ziphone in terminal. My iPhone has been jailbroken and unlocked.

The only things not working is the find me feature in google maps (not too fussed about this) and visual voicemail.
 
Thanks a lot! Just to be very clear (since it is a lot of money), if I unlock the iphone with this, come December, I can restore the iphone to its original factory condition and activate it with ATT?

Okay I want to use your utitlity here since I've had no luck with the PC version ive been trying..

But my phone is in a weird state, heres what ive went through

- Originally OTB 1.1.1 3.9BL
- Upgraded baseband to 4.03 and unlocked with anysim 1.3
- had no phone service for some reason but anysim said it worked
- updated to 1.1.3 through itunes, some how the unlock/jailbreak stayed i guess as i could use all of the features and my phone service suddenly reappeared
- tried to add music and said my phone wasnt activated
- tried using ziphone for windows, said it worked but it then put it into the 'slide for emrgency' screen... yet somehow the phone service is still unlocked and i can make and recieve calls through the emerg dialer
- have been trying to use anythng and evrything to activate and jailbreak the phone with no success

any ideas anyone??

EDIT: btw im using a canadian rogers sim card which is working through the emerg dialer.

Yeah :)
Although I wouldn't recommend it. You will come to love the jailbreak & Installer.app :)
Then again, the SDK will be out by then ;)

Put it into recovery mode by holding down the Power and Home buttons until you see the Apple logo, then letting go of the Power button but holding the home button until you see a Connect to iTunes image. Then, use iTunes to Restore the iPhone to 1.1.3. Once it's done, use iJailBreak to jailbreak it (Do NOT unlock it with iJailBreak). Then, use AnySIM 1.3 to unlock :)
 
error im getting

Thats what i just tried.. i did a straight restore though.. should I be doing "option" restore??

Looks like your system has a faulty libSystem.B.dylib. I don't really know how to go about fixing it, the problem doesn't have to do with iJailBreak.
 
I tried just for the heck of it to JB my 1.1.1 OTB that I upgraded to 1.1.3. I'm on AT&T so I didn't need to unlock it. The jailbreak went very smoothly and very fast! But in all honesty, I didn't see anything of real use on the Installer, so I put the phone into DFU mode and restored as a new phone to undo the jailbreak.

If you were on O2, you shouldn't have unlocked... I think if you restore and jailbreak again without the unlock it should work better.

You need to look around a bit longer...

Besides all the GUI customization (no more ugly metal dock) there exist many powerful apps such as iFlix for Netflix users.
 
Thanks, I couldn't wait for an unlock when I got the iphone in Nov so gave my daughter my orange one and took out an o2 contract. I will restore tomorrow as its late here now and let you know if it went ok and worked.
