The new optimised charging feature seems like a great idea, anything designed to prolong the lifetime of a non user replaceable battery in a sealed phone is a great idea.
However I do foresee an issue with this feature, and that is the user.
I foresee a lot of non tech savvy people plugging...
Just swapped my Honor 9 for an iPhone 7 (wanting to get away from Big-brother, sorry, Google).
Liking the experience and the way it just links to my Mac and iPad. However, so disappointed with battery life - my Honor 9 would typically have 40-50% left at the end of the day - admittedly, I'm not...
Hi everyone!
This happened 3 times: I opened the MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012)/Mojave, and it was out of batteries. After I connected the power cord and turn it on, the only user available was the administrator. My personal user has just 'disappeared' .
So I logged in with the administrator...
I have a late 2013 Macbook Pro and starting a couple weeks ago while not doing any intensive work just browsing basic websites, my computer froze up and then shut down.
It gets really hot above the keyboard, freezes, and then shuts down.
Here are my specs:
Late 2013
2.6 GHz Intel Core i7

Hi, I've owned a 2011 15' Macbook Pro since the year it launched, it's been a great computer all of these years and I upgraded the ram from 4gb to 8gb and swapped the mechanical 5200rpm HDD to a 256gb SSD.
About 1 year and a half ago my battery almost blew up so I removed and used the computer...
This is a remote 2010 MBA running Mavericks to which I connect via Chrome Remote Desktop or SSH.
When I connected this morning I noticed the battery percentage was only 47%. The Menu Bar battery tool shows:
When I logged in an hour later the battery was down to 42%.
I know that I need to...
I noticed under the battery area in the general settings, the graph goes up to 150%. What does this mean? Does it mean power used when plugged into a wall?
Thanks!
Main question: Should I return this Amazon renewed item and just spend the extra money on a certified Apple refurbished if the battery seems suspect?
I recently bought a renewed 2017 Macbook 12" off of Amazon. I asked around on reddit to see if there was anything I should be concerned about and...
Hey everyone,
I recently started refurbing on my old 2010 MBP and have run in to some problems.
First problem that I am having is the battery was bulging and pressing the trackpad up so that it would no longer click, but I have resolved that by simply removing the battery for now, and I intend...
I have a late 2013 MBP 15". In April I replaced the battery with an OWC (Macsales.com) NewerTech NuPower 71 Watt-Hour Battery Replacement Kit. I had no problem replacing the battery myself.
In April, I was sent two batteries which did not work. A third was sent and was working until I started...
On my 2015 MacBook Pro 15 inch with 2.5 ghz I7 the battery capacity reads 7200 mAh. I have 220 battery cycles and I know stock it has about 8200 mAh. Is there a reason for this and can I improve it?
Hi.
I keep my MacbookPro permanently connected via USB-C to my LG Ultrafine 5K monitor. After work is done, I close the lid, and it goes to standby.
However I noticed, that the laptop is warm (hand warm) all the time.
- Why is that? It is on standby.
- Does this hurt the battery?
- Shall I...
For people who cares about battery consumption and privacy
I just discovered it is not enough to just disable it in general prefs. You will see an empty list of on or off.
If you are with the generic Background App refresh off
then check each one of your apps in
Settings
where they are listed...
I recently bought a refurbished iphone 6s (IOS 12.2) off Amazon, and have been testing the battery life as I think it is dodgy. I charge it to 100% and then leave in on standby wile i'm at work ( 9 ish hours ) and when return the battery has dropped to 50 % on the first test and the 70% on my...
hey like the tile says I am getting horrible battery life out of my 2018 MBP and have since if got it. I thought it was all of that years models being defective but after talking to people that’s not true.
Anyway I need more specific data. How long do all of you programmers who use Xcode or...
Recently I picked up a 1st generation iPod Nano in decent condition with some accessories and the box. I charged it up and it's fine. It sounds pretty good too and is a nifty, portable device. I like it a lot, but I have a question of concern.
I know there's a recall program for that certain...
Recently the battery on my Macbook Pro (Retina, 13 inches, Early 2015) has been flagged by the menu bar as 'Condition: Replace Now', and according to coconutBattery it now only has about 44% of its original design capacity, after just over 1000 cycles. Now this wouldn't normally bother me as...
I have an iPhone 6s that I bought in late 2015. By late 2017 I was getting horrible life from the battery so I jumped at the chance to get a replacement from Apple (1000 baht here in Thailand or about US$30) in early 2018.
By late 2018 the replacement battery was already performing quite...
I have the Xr and I'm really enjoying it. I came from an 8, so it's clearly a step up in battery life. But my question is comparing to the Xs. Every battery test I'm seeing online is showing the Xs to be on par with, if not better than the battery life than the Xr. And yes I'm talking about...
