Ooh exciting. Hopefully if they go ahead they'll use the most obvious exploit and leave the better one until after the SDK. That is, if the article is correct and/or the devs decide to release.

iPhone method was released 15 minutes ago. Still no touch method.

Don't get me wrong, guys. I'm with you too (as long as apps still work) but what's the point of going up to 1.1.3? As far as I know you would still need to throw down twenty bucks to get the webclips feature (as far as I know) and we already have the additional apps. I guess I'm just looking for the other improvements?

No point at the moment, but I guess the hope is that the firmware will be hackable to allow the add-on apps. Plus, who doesn't want wobbly icons? ;)

Who knows, maybe in a few revisions the jailbreak will include the option for the upgrade package. That's what happened with iJailbreak eventually (it installed iPhone apps).

I just tried upgrading to 1.1.3.

After upgrading to 1.1.3 without the $20 applications the universal dock does not output video.

As soon as they can unlock the $20 features then it would be worthwhile. I think that being able to rearrange the icons, WebClips and other improvements will be worth it. Plus having the latest release is always nice ;)

Indeed. Tried the current-state jailbroken 1.1.3 twice and seems like 1.1.2 is a lot more usable for my purposes, for now. I'll wait until everything works in 1.1.3...

isn't it possible in the iphone 1.1.3 jb app to point to the ipod touch firmware if already downloaded?

I tried that, but it seems to ignore the iPod firmware when the time comes to download it to your iPod..

I restored my Ipod back to 1.1.3 un-jailbroken, to many mistakes, as in the passcode not working, and most of the apps i liked did not support 1.1.3. (summerboard... custimize) basicly, wait till the SDK, or a better ipod jailbreak
